WARREN HIGH SCHOOLS’ DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI HALL OF FAME PURPOSE The purpose of the Warren High Schools’ Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame Award is to recognize and honor those persons who, through their performance and achievements, reflect credit on the Warren High Schools, so that present-day students may find identity in the past and establish goals for the future.

SELECTION CRITERIA Recipients are selected based on one or more of the following criteria: 

Achievements while a student at the Warren High Schools and/or outstanding service to the school district.



Outstanding achievements in vocational pursuits as evidenced by awards and/or honors conferred upon him/her by colleagues, organizations or the government.



Contributions made to the community and/or government.



Meritorious recognition for some action taken, service provided or exemplary accomplishment.



Specific philanthropic involvement.



Other criteria which may be brought before the Board from internal or external sources.

2022 Inductees WILLIAM E. KUSH Warren, Ohio After graduating from Warren G. Harding High School in 1971, William Kush attended Youngstown State University Dana School of Music. He retired from Warren City Schools in 2019 after 46 years of service. At WCS, he was supervisor of plant maintenance, operations and warehouse. From 1978 until his retirement, he negotiated all IUOE contracts. He received the Supportive Staff Award in 1981. He served on the district’s last eight levy committees. He instituted and managed LED lighting and boiler replacement programs; managed the relocation of all equipment from 15 buildings – seven over three years. He managed the asbestos compliance program for over 30 years. He reduced the district maintenance budget from $5.8 million to $2.9 million. He also served as chairman of the United Way committee for 10 years. He has also served as an Elks Lodge officer, local National Foundation chairman and District Honor Society; liaison to Boy Scout Troop 101; was guest speaker at Rotary Club of Warren; and volunteered as MDA Lock-Up Jailbird.

MANUEL N. MALIGAS Spring, Texas Following graduation from Warren G. Harding High School in 1961, Manuel Maligas attended Youngstown University, where he received a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in 1966 and a Master’s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering in 1973. During his career, he developed solutions that have delivered new processes and materials in the aerospace and oil field industries. He was elected to be a Fellow by the American Society for Metals (ASM); honored by the American Petroleum Institute (API); served on the board of the International Standard Organization (ISO) for materials; recognized in “American Men and Women in Science;” and included in “Who’s Who in Science.” He has authored over 30 technical publications. He is a member of the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA) and serves on the boards of the Educational Foundation and the Charitable Organization.

Dr. Kristen E. Pearson New Orleans, Louisiana After graduating from Warren G. Harding High School in 2008, Kristen graduated summa cum laude from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Nonprofit Leadership in 2012. She went on to obtain a Master of Science degree in Education as well as a Doctor of Philosophy degree in School Psychology from Duquesne University in 2017. After completing a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Psychology at a therapeutic day treatment program in New Orleans, Kristen became licensed as a Psychologist in the state of Louisiana. Currently, Kristen is a licensed child psychologist, certified school psychologist, and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry in the Tulane University School of Medicine. She specializes in the assessment and treatment of children with emotional and behavioral disorders and uses a relationship and strengths-based approach grounded in connecting the home, school, and community. Kristen’s experience includes psychoeducational assessment, treatment, and consultation in schools and therapeutic settings for students with significant mental health concerns. Her interests include widening the implementation of trauma informed care and the impact of trauma exposure on a child’s ability to access education, including the issue of discipline disproportionality. Additional interests include perinatal mental health, vicarious traumatization, understanding the comorbidity of internalizing and externalizing symptoms and disorders, and the advocacy of greater access to mental health services in educational settings.

Raymond D. Yannucci Stow, Ohio After graduating from Warren G. Harding High School in 1961, Raymond D. Yannucci received a BS Degree in Business Administration from Youngstown State University in 1968. In 1966, he began his journalism career at the Warren Tribune Chronicle. His career then took him to the Dover/New Philadelphia Times-Reporter as Scholastic Sports Editor and the Akron Beacon Journal. In 1978, he won the Associated Press' first-place award for Best Feature story. He was hired by the Browns in 1981 as Publisher/Editor-inChief to develop, launch and manage the team’s in- house publication, Browns News/Illustrated. He operated BN/I until the end of 2001 after purchasing it from the Browns in 1986. He owned and published 49ers Report, Oiler News, Broncos Report and Ravens Report. He covered 23 straight Super Bowls, was co-founder of the Pro Football Publications Association and a member of the Pro Football Writers Association. He is a 2006 Warren Sports Hall of Fame inductee. In 1990, he was a keynote speaker at a rally for a Warren City School levy that passed. He serves as a co-chairperson for the Warren Football Legends project that in five years has raised nearly $150,000 for the Warren Harding football program.

2020-2021 Inductees Robert Berk Robert (Rob) Berk graduated from Warren G. Harding High School in 1972 and from The Ohio State University in 1977. As CEO of Berk Enterprises, he began working with the company after graduating from OSU and, over the ensuing years, increased sales over 1000%. After a successful sales trip to China in 1998, Rob developed an import arm of the company, Berkley Square, a division that now employs a salesforce and a network of brokers throughout the country. He also initiated an international trade show (1985) for pinball enthusiasts, Pinball Expo, which has been recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest running pinball event. Rob has been honored as the Regional Chamber Entrepreneur of the Year (2019), received the Rotary Assistant Governor’s Award for Distinguished Service (20102011), and was named a Trumbull County Community Star (2019). As a member of Rotary, he founded the Slice of the Valley Annual Pizza Challenge, and he is a member of Trumbull 100. His personal motto is “Never say never” and credits his time at Harding for helping him grow as an individual, helping him with skills of negotiation, and boosting his confidence.

Dr. Adam Cash Adam Cash, a 1998 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, a 2002 graduate of Case Western Reserve University (BA – Chemistry), and a 2006 graduate of CWRU (MD), was very active in high school. He was involved in Drama Club, Band (Marching and Symphonic), FIRST Robotics, Odyssey of the Mind, and National Honor Society. Dr. Cash was a full diploma recipient of the International Baccalaureate program. In addition to his specialty practice in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, he is an adjunct professor at Mercy Health, Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, Gannon University, and NEOUCOM. He has written a host of scientific articles, chapters, and books. Dr. Cash was selected to Phi Beta Kappa while at CWRU. He is active in Trumbull New Theater, is a volunteer reader for Academic Challenge, and provides free skin cancer screenings at community health events.

Edward Lukco Edward Lukco, a 1966 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, furthered his education on a full athletic scholarship (basketball) to the University of Florida. He graduated from there in 1971 with a BSBA degree and earned an MBA from Ohio University in 1985. His first employment was in insurance; as such, he traveled the world and worked for Lloyd’s of London. He then joined with a group of individuals to form an artificial intelligence-based software company, which was the first of its kind and which provided services to international companies. Because of his love of learning, Ed then transitioned into college teaching. He currently teaches at The Ohio State University, Ohio Dominican and Franklin. He is consistently one of the highest rated professors at Ohio State in the College of Arts and Sciences. He has volunteered as a high school basketball coach and is involved with fundraisers for local causes. As a basketball player at WGH, he was co-captain of the final four state-ranked basketball team (1966) and won AllOhio Honorable Mention.

Nick Macris Nick Macris graduated from Warren G. Harding High School in 1944, from (then) Youngstown College in 1960 (BS degree in Education and a degree in Engineering), and from Westminster College in 1966 with a MEd in School Administration. He also did post-graduate work at Kent State, the University of Pittsburgh, and the University of Akron. He began his teaching career as a junior and senior high school teacher of math and science in various districts then became a high school principal in the Waterloo School District. Returning to the area in 1977, he was named Superintendent of the Grand Valley Local School District and then moved to the Howland School District from 1979-1989 as Superintendent. He was inducted into the Howland Schools’ Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame. Nick was active in the community as seen by his involvement with the Children’s Rehab Center, the W-TC Public Library, and the Trumbull County Educational Service Center. He was also a long-standing member of Phi Delta Kappa.

Angelo Kafantaris After graduating from Warren G. Harding High School in 2002, Constantine “Angelo” Kafantaris continued his education at the College for Creative Studies (Detroit) and received a BFA degree in car design in 2007. He has also done graduate work at The Ohio State University (2004-2006). Angelo’s career includes automotive designer for Toyota, product designer for Hot Wheels, design engineer for Mattel, and manager of an innovation group for Disney. He is CEO of Hyperion, a tech company that works with NASA to create next generation electric vehicles. Angelo believes that WCS prepares its students very well for college and life. He was able to “test out” of many freshman classes and was able to enroll in advanced CAD classes. He is involved with GOYA, is a youth basketball coach, and, through Hyperion Manufacturing, is committed to bringing high tech jobs back to the Mahoning Valley. He wants the current generation to know that all dreams are possible if you are willing to work for it.

Vincent Peterson

As a 1982 graduate of Warren Western Reserve High School, Vincent Peterson has distinguished himself in various areas of endeavor. He attended Youngstown State University on a full athletic scholarship and graduated in 1987 with a Bachelor’s degree. He went on to graduate from the North Carolina College of Theology in 2018 and is now pursuing a Master’s degree, also in Theology. Vince is currently the officer in charge of adult probation and supervises the staff that oversees high level probation offenders. In addition, he is supervisor to the U.S. Marshal’s Violent Fugitive Task Force as well as an FBI hostage negotiator. He has been the recipient of many honors, including Trumbull County Community Star, African American Achievement Hall of Fame, Warren City Sports Hall of Fame, Trumbull County Sports Hall of Fame, and YSU’s first Cultural Diversity Award. Vince is currently the vice-president of the Trumbull County Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance Board, chairman of the Trumbull County Corrections Board and is on the Board of Directors for Trumbull County Drug and Mental Health. He believes that there is no better place to get an education than in the Warren City School System.

Sara Kingsbery Walsh After a highly successful and activity-filled high school career at Warren G. Harding High School, Sara “Sally” Kingsbery Walsh went on to Wellesley and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy. After a few years of living in Germany, Sally moved to Austin, Texas, where she studied law at the University of Texas, Austin. In 1978 she graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Nonbivalent Logic/Philosophy and a J.D. in International Law in 1982. While working part-time, she composed questions and answers for the GRE for the Educational Testing Service. Her legal career was devoted to public service law, first as a public defender then with the Legal Services of New Jersey. Sally was later coordinator of the Pro Bono Project, which worked with private attorneys in doing volunteer legal work. Though she is currently semi-retired, she has retained her law license and does editing work, volunteers at Good Grief, and helps with tax prep for the elderly and disabled. She is active in her church, where she teaches faith development classes.

WARREN ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP FUND The Warren City Schools’ Foundation and the Committee of the Warren High Schools’ Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame would like to give special thanks to Mr. Charles R. Cole (HOF Member, 2008) for his initiative and dedication in establishing a scholarship fund for Warren G. Harding students.

Special recognition is also given to Bill Williams (HOF Member, 1995), the Warren G. Harding Class of 1948 and the members of the Hall of Fame for their contributions.

The purpose of this fund is to inspire and enable Warren G. Harding students to pursue postsecondary education in a university, community college or trade school. 2022 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS Ryan Gump

Dr. John O. and Mary Alice Vlad Scholarship The Jay Lacy Memorial Scholarship Ryan Gump is graduating Magna Cum Laude with High Honors. She has been a two-year varsity softball and volleyball letter-winner in which she was named District 1 Second Team. She has lettered all four years in band, and is a member of the symphonic, jazz, and marching band at Harding. While in high school, she has been an active member of National Honor Society and Key Club where she has volunteered at the Warren Family Mission, Red Cross Blood Drives, made Valentine's cards for nursing homes, volunteered for Christmas in the Square, gathered and wrapped Angel Tree Gifts, helped organize an Easter Egg Hunt for preschoolers, and has served as a helper for Solo and Ensemble. Upon graduation, Ryan plans to attend Kent State University to major in Sports Medicine.

The Vlad Scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, music and athletics. John and Mary Alice Vlad graduated from WGH in 1952 and they both graduated from Hiram College. John graduated from the Ohio State University Medical School and Mary Alice was a teacher for many years. John was inducted into the HOF in 1996. The scholarship was established in 2013.

Jay Lacy was a longtime teacher, coach and faculty manager at WGH. His family established this scholarship in his memory to recognize a graduate with strong academics and involvement in extracurricular activities.

Anthony Payiavlas

Student of Promise Scholarship in Honor of Sue Kindelberger Anthony Payiavlas has maintained a 4.27 grade point average and will graduate with Summa Cum Laude Honors. He has earned varsity letters for the past four years as a member of the WGH Golf and Tennis Teams in which he has served as the Team Captain. He has advanced to the finals in the state tennis tournament two years with the hope of a third trip this season. He has also been a lifelong member of the Greek Orthodox Youth Association (GOYA) where he currently serves as Treasurer. Anthony will continue his tennis career at Denison University majoring in Communications and plans to take over the family business alongside his three brothers.

In 2007, the Hall of Fame Board of Directors honored Sue Kindelberger with this scholarship when she retired as President of the HOF Board. Sue is also a member of the Distinguished Faculty section of the HOF.

Connor Leecue

Gail Pavick Scholarship Frank J. Hoso Memorial Scholarship Connor Leecue has been an integral member of the Warren G. Harding Swimming and Diving Team. He has lettered all four years in swimming and has qualified for districts throughout high school. He has also been a member of the Tennis Team and National Honor Society. When not at Harding, Connor volunteers at a local dog shelter and volunteers at football games. He plans to matriculate to the University of Akron where he will study Business.

The Warren G. Harding Swimming & Diving Gail Pavick Scholarship was established in 2016. The scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from Warren G. Harding who has been involved with the swim team and plans on attending college.

Frank J. Hoso, Jr. was a long-time teacher in the Warren City Schools. His family established this award following his death in 2017. This scholarship is awarded to a deserving student who is pursuing a degree in education.

Aiden Rohrer

Warren City Schools Administration / Warren Education Association Scholarship Aiden Rohrer has earned a 4.25 grade point average through his participation in Advanced Placement and College Credit Plus coursework. He is a four year varsity letter winner for the WGH Soccer Team and has been a member of the Soccer Vision Academy Soccer Club where he has earned All-District First Team honors for the past three years, All-County Honorable Mention, Academic Excellence-YDSSCA award, All-American Conference Second Team, 2021 MVP Adidas Showcase, 2021 State Cup champions. Aiden has also fulfilled the role of Driver for the F.I.R.S.T. Robotics Team. He is a member of the Tennis Team, National Honor Society, and our WGH Band. While at Harding he has voluteered for multiple Red Cross Blood Drives, as an indoor high school boys soccer coach, created Valentine’s Day cards for the area nursing homes, volunteered at an FLL event, adopted several children for the Angel Tree, and shoveled snow at the school bus stops. Aiden plans to attend Ohio State University and major in Computer Science and Engineering.

The Warren City Schools Administration / Warren Education Association Scholarship was established in 2016 as a collaborative effort to provide scholarships to deserving Warren City Schools' students. It is funded by donations from the Teachers and Administration of the Warren City School District.

Jacala Martin

Class of 1948 Scholarship Jacala Martin has been on Honor Roll and in the Renaissance Program. While at Harding, she has taken college preparatory, which has allowed her to earn an Honors Diploma with a 3.79 grade point average. She plans to major in Psychology next year.

Members of the WGH June Class of 1948 donated generously to the scholarship fund and a scholarship has been established to honor them. Chuck Cole and Bill Williams, both members of the class of 1948, worked tirelessly to raise scholarship funds from their classmates. The scholarship was established in 1998.

Lavaijanae Berry

Frank Bubba Scholarship The Mary S. Virca Scholarship Lavaijanae Berry has earned a 4.13 cumulative grade point and has taken both AP and College Credit Plus coursework. She has repeatedly been on the Honor Roll and a member of the Renaissance Program. She has been a four-year member of the basketball team, a three-year member of the softball team, and played tennis for one year. She is an active member with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and the National Honor Society. She has volunteered with the Red Cross Blood Drives, the preparation of the Angel Tree gifts, and Valentine’s Day Card making. She plans to pursue a major in Forensic Pathology/Chemistry upon graduation with the goal of being a Crime Scene Investigator.

Frank Bubba was a longtime teacher and basketball coach in the Warren City Schools. His family and the Trumbull County Coaches Association established this award following his death in 2002.

This scholarship is awarded to a deserving student-basketball player.

The Mary S. Virca Scholarship was established in 2021 in Honor of the mother of HOF inductee G. Duke Virca. This scholarship recognizes a female student who plans to pursue a career in a S.T.E.M. field.

Tazion Wallace

Student of Promise Scholarship in Honor of Eileen Patrone Tazion Wallace plans to attend Wheeling University next year and study Physical Therapy. While at Harding he has been a member of the Football, Basketball, and Track Teams. He has volunteered at his church and has been a consistent Honor Roll and Renaissance Program participant.

The Student of Promise Scholarship in Honor of Eileen Patrone was established in 2019. The Hall of Fame Board of Directors honored Eileen Patrone for her many years of dedicated service to the HOF Board.

David Devlin

Russ-Brown Scholarship David Devlin has lettered in Varsity Baseball for the past four years, and has been a member of the soccer team—lettering twice. He additionally has been a member of the WGH Men’s Basketball Team. He plans to attend Ohio University in the fall.

The Russ-Brown Memorial Scholarship was established in 2018 to honor John O. Russ, 2018 HOF Inductee, and David H. Brown, a 2009 inductee as well as John’s widow Marcia Demmer Russ a WGH graduate.

Casey Owsley

C. Robert Wyndham and Fred Kubli, Jr. Scholarship A Philip Randolph Institute Scholarship Casey Owsley will be attending Cleveland State University and will be majoring in Nursing. She has maintained a 4.01 Grade point average which has allowed her to letter in academics all four years in high school and graduate with the Cum Laude designation. She has been a member of the Key Club in which she has served as the Treasurer and the President, the Discovery Group where she has served as secretary, the National Honor Society, and the Marching Band in which she was a squad and clarinet section leader. Through her activities she has volunteered by ringing the bell for Salvation Army, Angel Tree Gift, Blood Drives, volunteered as a helper at Solo & Ensemble, ran children's games at Christmas On The Square, served as an usher at Packard Music Hall, served as a timer at swim meets, assisted with preschool room parties, posted words of encouragement on student lockers.

The C. Robert Wyndham and Fred Kubli, Jr. Scholarship is awarded to students who meet the residential criteria and who write an essay that addresses the theme “If I could change the world I would …”

Luke Byers

Dr. Edward C. Miner Sr. Scholarship Luke Byers plans to attend Kent State Trumbull in the fall and major in Computer Engineering. While in high school, he has been a member of the Warren G. Harding Band and has taken courses to develop his artistic skills. He has participated in activities with the Boy Scouts of America and in his local church choir. He has been on the Honor Roll and a participant in the Renaissance Program throughout high school.

This scholarship was established by the family of Dr. Edward C. Miner, a 1957 graduate of Warren City Schools and a Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame member.

Ny Shala Williams

Kenneth Kraker Scholarship NyShala Williams plans to attend Kent State University and major in Hospitality and Event Management where she will pursue her dream of becoming a pastry chef. She has been a member of the Marching Band and Choir. She has been the Captain of the Flagline. She has been a consistent Honor Roll and Renaissance Program participant. In her free time, she makes snacks and food for the homeless shelters and support groups.

The Kenneth Kraker scholarship was established in honor of Mr. Kenneth Kraker, a former Warren City School District teacher, for a graduating senior who plans to pursue his/her education in industrial arts or sciences.

Azarria Williams

The Cassandra Barr Gray Memorial Scholarship The Cliff and Lillie Johnson Memorial Scholarship Azarria Williams participated in a college preparatory curriculum which has allowed her to earn a 3.8 cumulative grade point average. She has been a four year member of the choir and the Marching Band flag line. She has also volunteered as a Big Sister to elementary students at Jefferson PK-8.

Azarria has also participated in Academic Achievers for the past four years, including their summer programming on Youngstown State’s Campus. She plans to Major in Business Administration/ Marketing at Youngstown State University.

The Cassandra Barr Gray Memorial Scholarship was established in 2022 in memory of Cassie Barr Gray, a 2004 graduate of WGH, to provide educational assistance to a fellow lady Raider who embodies Cassie’s welcoming nature and fun personality. Cassie performed community service for the City of Warren during her time as a member of the Interact Club. She was also a cheerleader, but, even after retiring her pom-poms, she continued cheering for all of her classmates. Cassie was everyone’s friend, making new students feel welcome and even establishing lifelong relationships with teachers she viewed as role models. Cassie and her young son, Otto, passed away January 1, 2021, leaving a tremendous void in the community. The recipient of this scholarship is a student who demonstrates academic achievement, dedication, perseverance and an infectious love of life and people.

The Cliff and Lillie Johnson Memorial Scholarship was established in 2018 to honor Cliff’s and Lillie’s lifelong commitment to the arts, community and education throughout the City of Warren, and to honor Cliff Johnson who was an educator in the Warren City School District.

Janiyah Vogle

Anthony R. Berarducci Scholarship A Philip Randolph Institute Scholarship Janiyah Vogle has maintained a 4.0 grade point average while in high school. She has been a member of the Key Club and has also participated in Track and Field. She has also developed her own clothing line in which she has conducted a seasonal coat drive and made clothing donations. She plans to attend college in Florida and major in Chemistry.

The Berarducci Scholarship was established in honor of Anthony R. Berarducci, a former Warren City School District Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Principal, Teacher and Director of Personnel.

Shanayla Bundy

Cole-Williams Scholarship A Philip Randolph Institute Scholarship Shanyla Bundy will be a first generation college student, she plans on going to college to major in Psychology and Child Development to become a Child Psychologist. While at Harding she has been a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, Tennis, Debutante Ball, Youth Leadership of Mahoning Valley, Upward Bound, National Youth Leadership Forum by Envision: Business Innovation. She has served as Key Club Vice President, earned Honorable Mention in the 44th annual YSU English Festival, and is a TCAAAA Scholarship Recipient, A. Philip Randolph Institute Scholarship recipient. She has enjoyed her volunteer activities in Key Club and Student Council where she has hung motivational quotes, assisted with classroom cleanup, Easter basket making, decorating for the special needs spring fling dance, served as blood drive volunteer and collected and wrapped angel tree toys.

Charles R. Cole, class of 1948, was inducted as a member of the Hall of Fame in 2008. Through his efforts the original Warren Alumni Scholarship Fund was founded. Cole worked closely with Bill Williams to raise money to establish the fund. Williams is also a member of the WGH June Class of 1948 and was inducted into the HOF in 1995. The Cole-Williams Scholarship was established in 1998.

Majaurice Williams

Louis and Margaret Sullivan Memorial Scholarship Majaurice Williams is a four-year member of the WGH Football team in which he has earned three varsity letters and was recognized as the Academic Raider of the Year. He is a member of Team Sanders as well. He has been on the honor roll and maintain a 3.6 grade point average at Harding.

He plans to pursue a business degree at Youngstown State University in the fall.

After a long career in banking, Louis Sullivan continued his passion and support of WGH athletics. He was also a founding member of the Warren Sports Hall of Fame. The scholarship was established from the estate of Louis and Margaret Sullivan.

Jacob Tatebe

Chiaro Family Scholarship Supancic Family Scholarship Jacob Tatebe has earned a 4.2 cumulative grade point average which will allow him to graduate with Summa Cum Laude Honors. He has been an Honor Roll and Renaissance Award winner for his entire high school career and has maximized his academic experience through his College Credit Plus and AP courses. He has served as the Varsity boys soccer captain since 2019, earned four year varsity letters. He has earned 2nd Team All-State honors, has been nominated for All-American, has earned First Team All-District for all four years, and has represented the United States in Northern Ireland in 2018 and 2019. He has obtained a scholarship to play division one soccer at Florida Gulf Coast University, and has been selected for Olympic Development Program Regional Pool for three consecutive years. Jacob is a member of Relay For Life TicTac student run team which fundraises for cancer research. Jacob would like to send a big thank you to everyone who has been involved within his educational career at WGH and for being selected as a recipient of these awards.

Superintendent Steve Chiaro and his family established this scholarship in 2013 to recognize the outstanding achievements of Warren G. Harding graduates.

The Supancic Family Scholarship was established in 2019 and is supported by Frank and Terry Supancic, Jennifer, and Kelly. Frank Supancic was a longtime teacher and swim coach in the Warren City Schools and was recognized as a Distinguished Faculty in 2020-21. Jennifer Supancic-Cissell graduated in 1994 and was inducted into the HOF in 2015.

Tyler Greene

Distinguished Faculty Member Scholarship in Honor of Anthony R. Berarducci Tyler Greene has maintained a 3.75 cumulative GPA and has been on the Honor Roll for his entire high school career. He has taken College Credit Plus and AP courses over standard advanced. Tyler has been a member of the National Honor Society and has participated in their volunteer work. He has participated in the school's Robotics team from 2018-2022, travelimg to Cleveland, Rochester, Chicago, Detroit, and Florida, helping lead the team win 3 Regional events in 2019. He has been an integral member of WSCN from 2019-2022. Tyler has volunteered throughout high school assisting with the WSCN Live sports broadcasts, which has prompted him to Major in Digital Media Productions at Kent State University next year.

The Berarducci Scholarship was established in honor of Anthony R. Berarducci, a former Warren City School District Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Principal, Teacher and Director of Personnel.

Deon Provitt III

Warren Promise Scholarship Deon Provitt was been a member of the Warren G Harding football team his freshman, sophomore and junior year. He then participated in the marketing progam, DECA. He has also participated on the chess team. He has maintained a 3.0 grade point average and plans to attend Youngstown State University in the fall and major in accounting.

The Warren Promise Scholarship was established in 2019 to honor outstanding graduating seniors from Warren G. Harding High School. The scholarship is funded by generous donations made to the Warren City Schools’ Foundation.

Isaac Hetson

Warren Promise Scholarship Isaac Hetson plans to attend Hiram College to earn a degree in Accounting and Business Finance.

Isaac has been a four year letter winner for Varsity Swimming, and earned the MVP award in 2022.

He has also lettered in Academics and was a two year member of the Warren G. Harding Band.

Isaac also has volunteered as a Big Brother to students at Jefferson PK-8. While at WGH, Isaac participated in the College Credit Plus and AP program which has enabled him to graduate with honors.

The Warren Promise Scholarship was established in 2019 to honor outstanding graduating seniors from Warren G. Harding High School. The scholarship is funded by generous donations made to the Warren City Schools’ Foundation.

Da’Shana Thomas

Nelle C. Ohl Scholarship Da’Shana Thomas plans to attend Youngstown State University and major in Psychology. While at Harding, she maintained perfect attendance and a cumulative grade point average of 3.8. She has also been a member of the Warren G. Harding Choir and the Girls Scouts.

This scholarship was established as a continuing tribute to the generosity of the late Mrs. Ohl, a former teacher in the Warren City Schools.

Leah McGee

Candea-Faroga Scholarship Leah McGee plans to major in nursing in the fall. She has maintained a 3.9 cumulative grade point average which has allowed her to be on the Honor Roll for her entire high school career and a member of the Renaissance Program. She was a member of the Warren G. Harding Soccer Team and has participated in Relay for Life.

Eleanor Candea was born in 1913 and had been a resident of Trumbull County most of her life. She was a former teacher in Niles who received her teaching certificate at Ohio Northern University and went on to receive her Master’s Degree from the University of Cincinnati. The scholarship was established in 2007.

Ean Dodge

The Don Fowler Memorial Scholarship Ean Dodge has participated in the College Credit Plus and AP program where he has maintained a 4.02 grade point average. Ean Dodge has earned varsity letters for academics, band, and robotics. He is a member of the Drive Team for the F.I.R.S.T. Robotics Team. He has been heavily involved in Symphonic, Marching, and Jazz Band. Ean is the lead saxophone in the WGH jazz band. Ean is a member of the Boy Scouts of America, and volunteers with his youth group at church. Ean will be attending Kent State University in the fall where he will pursue a degree in Information Technology.

This scholarship was established in memory of longtime WCS educator Don Fowler by the Staff and Administration of Warren City Schools.

Joshaway Johnson

My Path Scholarship

Joshaway Jackson has been a four-year member of the choir and Academic Achievers. He has participated in the summer academic program on the campus of Youngstown State University. In this program he has explored areas of academic interest and participated in volunteer experiences. Following graduation, he plans to attend Youngstown State University.

Established in 2002, My Path is dedicated to increasing the number of local high school students who enroll in college and post-secondary education.

Ethan Dodge

The Fiorino Family Engineering Scholarship Ethan Dodge plans to attend The University of Akron where he will major in Aerospace Systems Engineering. He has prepared for his goal through taking a rigorous AP and College Credit Plus curriculum where he has earned a 4.2 grade point average. He has earned Magna Cum Laude graduation honors and has been a consistent member of the Renaissance program. While in high school, Ethan was a very committed Symphonic, Jazz, and Marching band member. He has lettered multiple times and has been a dynamic member of the swim team. Ethan has also been a participant in WSCN, thriving while assisting with the production of the news show and the live stream events.

He is also active in National Honor Society and Boy Scouts where he has participated in a variety of community service activities.

This scholarship was established in 2015 for a student with at least a 3.2, a minimum score of a 26 on the ACT and has been accepted at an accredited college or university in a program culminating in an Engineering degree.

Gabriele Wynn

The Harold B. Cassidy and Maryellen Cassidy Scholarship Gabriel Wynn has earned a 4.01 cumulative grade point average which will allow her to graduate Cum Laude. She has been a four-year member of the Honor Roll and Renaissance Program. While at Harding, Gabriel has been a member of the Madrigal and New Tomorrows choirs. She has served as a Mobile Meals Volunteer, Relay for Life team member, and participated in the Salvation Army Coat and Angel Tree Gift Drive. Gabriel has also participated in the Ronald McDonald House Charities5k Run, Red Cross blood drive. As a member of the National Honor Society, she created Valentine’s Day cards for the nursing home residents, helped facilitate an Easter egg hunt, participated in a color run, and shoveled snow to clear the bus stops this winter. She plans to attend Kent State- Trumbull in the fall and major in Child Psychology.

Established by the late Richard Nerod and Maryellen Nerod, the Harold B. Cassidy and Maryellen Cassidy Scholarship Fund benefits graduating students. Priority is given to students who have demonstrated academic achievement as well as financial need.

Jacqueline March

The Judge Robert Nader Memorial Scholarship Jacqueline March has earned a cumulative grade point average of 4.08 and is graduating with honors. She has been an integral part of WSCN and has enjoyed the production and editing of the daily program. She plans to attend Film School in the fall.

This scholarship was established by Nancy Nader, the wife of Judge Robert Nader, a 1946 Warren G. Harding High School graduate and a Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame member.

John Graham

Nick Kreatsolous DO and Deborah Kreatsolous Scholarship John Graham has been on the Honor Roll for his high school career and will graduate with Honors this May. He is the President of National Honor Society and helped plan and participate many volunteer activities. He is also a three-year basketball team member. John is a member of our WSCN team anchoring segments on the news and assisting with the live stream of sporting events. He has been an active participant in the Greek Orthodox Youth Association. He also can be found helping at his parents’ business. Upon graduation John plans to attend Youngstown State University and major in Biology/ Exercise Science.

Dr. Nick Kreatsolous, 1982 Warren G. Harding High School graduate and Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame member, established this scholarship for outstanding high school achievement.

Zachary Baritell

The Harold B. Cassidy and Maryellen Cassidy Scholarship Zachary Baritell plans to attend Full Sail University and major in Video Game Development. He is a four year member of the F.I.R.S.T. Robotics Team. He has been a member of WSCN and can often be seen anchoring various segments of the show. He has been a lifelong Boy Scout and recently completed his Eagle Scout project in Perkins Park. He has maintained a 4.0 grade point average and has taken both AP and College Credit Plus courses.

Established by the late Richard Nerod and Maryellen Nerod, the Harold B. Cassidy and Maryellen Cassidy Scholarship Fund benefits graduating students. Priority is given to students who have demonstrated academic achievement as well as financial need.

Jade Allen

Louis and Margaret Sullivan Memorial Scholarship Jade Allen has earned a 3.4 grade point average while in high school. She has been on the Honor Roll and a Renaissnace Program participant throughout high school. Jade has been a Warren G. Harding Cheerleader for four years. She has worked throughout high school and is currently working as an STNA. Jade plans to attend Kent State University in the fall.

After a long career in banking, Louis Sullivan continued his passion and support of WGH athletics. He was also a founding member of the Warren Sports Hall of Fame. This scholarship was established from the estate of Louis and Margaret Sullivan.

Kyle Venetti Warren City Schools Administration/ Warren Education Association Scholarship Kyle earned a 3.8 grade point average while in high school. He has earned high honors and has been a consistent Honor Roll and Renaissance program participant. He has been a member of the Warren G. Harding band in which he has lettered all four years. Kyle is also a member of National Honor Society and has participated in volunteer activities such as working at Red Cross Blood Drives, collecting and preparing Angel Tree donations, creating Valentine’s Day cards for the elderly, being a runner at the OMEA solo and ensemble, posting words of encouragement for juniors, and preparing an Easter egg hunt for preschoolers. Following graduation Kyle will be entering the work force and attending Kent State Trumbull.

The Warren City Schools Administration / Warren Education Association Scholarship was established in 2016 as a collaborative effort to provide scholarships to deserving Warren City Schools' students. It is funded by donations from the Teachers and Administration of Warren City Schools.

Camryn Stewart

D.E.S.I. Scholarship Camryn Stewart has maintained a 4.02 grade point average earning her Cum Laude graduation honors. She has been on the Honor Roll and a participant the Renaissance Program throughout high school. She serves as a Big Sister to students at Jefferson PK-8 School. She has been a four-year volleyball team member and serves as the manager for the basketball team. She is a member of the National Honor Society and has participated in a variety of volunteer activities. She was a recipient of the Tribune Chronicle’s Twenty Under 20 Award. She will be attending Kent State Trumbull in the fall where she will major in nursing.

The D.E.S.I. scholarship was established in 2016 in memory of Desirae Jenkins, a 2005 graduate of WGH. This scholarship honors a student who has demonstrated academic achievement, leadership, commitment, dedication and perseverance.

Jaylan Johnson

Student of Promise Scholarship in Honor of John Pogue Jaylan Johnson has been an active member of Inspiring Minds. He has participated in the English Festival . He has enjoyed volunteering at local hospitals, with his church, and with Inspiring Minds.

He plans to attend Youngstown State University in the fall and pursue a degree in Business Management.

The Student of Promise Scholarship in Honor of John Pogue was established in 2013. The Hall of Fame Board of Directors honored John Pogue, WGH Class of 1962, for his many years of dedicated service to the HOF Board. John was inducted into the HOF in 2000.

Brysen Powell

Distinguished Faculty Scholarship in Honor of Frank Bubba Brysen Powell has been a four-year member of the Warren G. Harding Football Team. He has won All-Conference and All-County Honors for his athletic performance. He also has been a member of the Warren G. Harding track and field team. He is an active participant and volunteer at his church.

Brysen plans to attend college in the fall.

Frank Bubba was a longtime teacher and basketball coach in the Warren City Schools.

George Berzonski

Student of Promise Scholarship in Honor of Lynn Gibson George Berzonski is four-year member of the WGH Soccer Team and has played Club soccer for many years. He has earned a 4.2 cumulative grade point average and will graduate with high honors. He participates in the College Credit Plus program taking most of his courses at Youngstown State University. He plans to attend college in the fall and pursue a career in health care.

The Hall of Fame Board of Directors honored Lynn Gibson for her many years of excellent service to the HOF Board. She served on the board since its inception and led the group as its coordinator for many years. This scholarship was established in 2013.

Raniyah Johnson

Donald Lee Nelson Scholarship Raniyah Johnson has maintained a grade point average of 3.4. She is consistently on the Honor Roll and a Renaissance Program participant. She is active in WSCN and has participated in College Credit Plus coursework. She plans to attend college in the fall and pursue a career in the medical field.

Donald Lee Nelson, a friend of the Warren City Schools, generously included the Warren Alumni Scholarship Fund in his will. Over $50,000 was donated by his estate in 2014 to establish this scholarship.

Tara Wertz

Student of Promise Tara Wertz is a student at Trumbull Career and Technical Center where is has participated in the Multimedia program. She has maintained a 3.8 grade point average and has participated in the College Credit Plus Program. She plans to attend Kent State University in the fall and major in Public Relations and Marketing.

The Warren Promise Scholarship was established in 2019 to honor outstanding graduating seniors from Warren G. Harding High School. The scholarship is funded by generous donations made to the Warren City Schools’ Foundation.

WARREN HIGH SCHOOLS' DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI HALL OF FAME 2023 NOMINATION FORM The Warren City School District will induct its next class of outstanding graduates into the Warren High Schools' Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame in May 2023. These honorees will be those graduates who have achieved success in their careers and/or have made significant contributions in their fields, as well as to society, the state and/or on a global scale. The honorees inducted into the Hall of Fame must be graduates of one of the three Warren public high schools: Warren High School, Warren G. Harding High School or Warren Western Reserve High School.

If you know of a well-qualified and deserving graduate who has been out of school at least twelve (12) years, complete the form below and return it to Warren High Schools' Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame prior to November 1, 2022. If you do not know the nominee's address, please try to suggest someone who can help to locate your nominee.

The current Hall of Fame Selection Committee will choose at least five (5) inductees for this honor.

Selections will be based on nominations and information received from friends, families and the individuals themselves. The next group of inductees into the Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame will be honored in May 2023.
