Welcome to the Annual Mill Iron G Bull Sale, I hope this catalog finds you well and healthy! I’m very excited for this year’s bull sale as I have incorporated some new sires to my AI program and this is the first group of them that are going to sell and I feel like they are a good, uniform set of bulls. My goal is to offer bulls that will work and travel in rough country and thrive in high altitudes, without falling apart. Another goal is to produce bulls that have extended useful lives. We feel that the key is not to push the bulls on feed. As yearling bulls, they are fed all the hay they can eat and 3lbs of 14% Bull Power pellet. Then, over the summer they are turned out on pasture. As coming two-year-olds, starting in December, we start feeding them free choice hay and 10 pounds of 14% Bull Power pellets.

A lot of bulls can look fancy with fat cover, but our bulls are always in their working clothes and will not go downhill as a result of coming off feed. I believe this gives the bulls more longevity. The dams of all bulls in the sale are cows that originated from the Moon Crest Ranch registered herd but were sold without papers. I bought the top 2% of these cows and their off spring from my dad’s herd, so these cows go back to the famous Angus Bull, “Thomas Latigo”. The grand dam to bulls 409, 410, 411, 412 and C602 died at the age of 22 years old. She had been bred for 16 years straight and always had one of the biggest, fanciest calves in my dad’s herd. Talk about longevity!

The Nunn 700 bull is out of my Broker 350 sire and is out of my best cow.

The bulls out of him should be easy fleshing, rapid growing, and great in terms of maternal ability. Coleman Charlo, SAV Raindance, Basin Payweight, and McConnell Altitude were 4 angus bulls that I thought would be great to integrate into my program because of the maternal traits and fleshing ability that they would bring to the table as well push down the scales at shipping time. Hooks Eagle is a great Sim-Angus bull that will defiantly add bone and muscle to your calves if you are looking to get your calves a shot more stout.

You will not be disappointed with the calves out of these sires! All bulls in this years sale will be coming two-year-olds. The bulls were PAP tested here at the ranch by Dr. Tim Holt and Dr. Dave Evertson performed the BSE and Trich tested the bulls. These bulls are born, raised, and developed at this elevation and are used to all that the environment can throw at them. As calves, they summer at elevations that are well over 9000’ and are ready to go to work for you.

I would like to especially thank Lindsay Ward for all the amazing work on the catalog, and Jeff Ward for all the help he has given me at my first two sales! I would like to also thank my parents for all they help and support they have given me throughout the years. As well as Colby Clay, Colter Nunn for the help taking pictures as well as working the bulls getting them cleaned up for the sale. An additional huge thank you goes out to Dean Powers, Heath Rasmussen, Chase Claburn, and Ashlin Stolz for looking after my cows during calving while I’m finishing up my last year of undergrad at UW. General Information Sale Details: Viewing will be from 11AM to 2PM. Lunch will be served at 1 and sale will start at 2.

Sale Location: The sale will be held at Red Mountain Ranch, located between mile marker 20 and 21 west of Laramie on Highway 230. Turn south on Watson Road and follow the road south. Including the cattle guard at the highway, you will cross a total of four cattle guards. Then, after the fourth, turn right and the sale will be held in the tan and green shop.

Buyers Risk: All bulls become the responsibility of the buyer, once the sale is over. We strongly encourage you to protect your investment by insuring your purchases.

Delivery Options: Buyer can take home their purchases the day of the sale and $100 will be deducted per lot. Free delivery for bulls purchased over $2,500. If you plan to pick up your purchases, they must be picked up by April 1st.

Health: All bulls were PAP tested at the ranch at 7330', by Dr. Tim Holt. All bulls were fertility and Trich tested by Alpine Animal Hospital.
