Walton Arts Center 2017/18 Season

Jake Shimabukuro Wednesday, Oct. 18, 7pm / Tickets start at $15 Jake Shimabukuro can still vividly remember the first time he held a ukulele at age 4. It was an encounter that would shape his destiny and give the world one of the most exceptional and innovative uke players in history – an artist who has drawn comparisons to musical titans such as Jimi Hendrix and Miles Davis. After selling out his appearance on Walton Arts Center’s 10x10 Arts Series, Jake returns to demonstrate the rich and varied catalog that captures the many moods of the ukulele. Known for his unique arrangements of popular songs like Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody,” this highly acclaimed artist proves that an instrument is limited only by the imagination and creativity of the person playing it.
