Our Story
Founded in 1964 by Ewell ‘R.E.D.’ Walsh, Walsh Engineering was created to provide contract engineering and lease operating services to the San Juan Basin.
In 1992, Red’s Son-in-Law, Paul Thompson took the reins of the company. Over the next 27 years, with the help of West Hahn, Vern Andrews, and his younger brother, John Thompson, he grew the company into a full-service upstream oil and gas company.
In 60 years, Walsh has come to care for thousands of wells and employ dozens of people who live our values on every project, everyday.
