2022 PORTFOLIO Academic Architectural Work

In University, I began working for Deborah Greco, a prominent architect in Uberlandia, Brazil. Throughout my employment, I was involved at all stages of the design process, helped design spectacular houses from beginning to end, became highly skilled at using architectural programs, and interacted with clients in various capacities. The ARET program allowed me to learn and appreciate the different residential and commercial building methods used in Canada compared to Brazil. I acquired knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, surveying, project management, and building material calculations Additionally, I completed presentations, which developed my communicative skills, and I am well versed in BCBC part 9 and the Alberta Building Code and the NBC. Currently I am in the process of studying the Alberta Building Code. Currently I work as an architectural technologist at Peake Design Group, collaborating with both architects, contractors and senior architectural technologists on both architectural and commercial projects. I believe that together, my Brazilian and Canadian architectural education and work experience, have allowed me to become a well rounded and highly skilled professional

ABOUT In 2018 I graduated from Architectural and Urban Design in Brazil, a 5-year Bachelor Degree program. I have since moved to Canada to pursue new opportunities and have graduated in April 2021 from Architectural and Engineering Technologies program (ARET) at Thompson Rivers University, a 3 year diploma program. In University I was on the Dean’s list in both Canada and Brazil, furthered my passion for both interior and exterior design, and became skilled at using several architectural programs. During my architectural program in Brazil, I researched and designed various types of buildings using AutoCAD and became proficient in Revit, Sketchup, V-ray, and Lumion. I now have over 7 years experience in using each of these programs.

In addition, the events pavilion in Sofia’s Center features a gym, body expression classes, and a convention center that accommodates up to 73 people. It is a completely humanized and decorated space intended to make children feel like they are on a playground, with the goal of making their time at the hospital as pleasant as possible. Sofia’s Center’s design aligns with its purpose, focuses on family, and aims to transform a moment of anguish, into a world of hope and fantasy, where the patient feels totally outside of the conventional hospital environment This is evident in the choice and design of all furniture in the spaces, as well as the flooring and decoration

Patients and families are welcomed by vibrant colours, organic shapes and visual dynamics. My sister’s picture behind the reception desk is a sign of resilience and nonetheless, hope. This photo was taken 4 months after she was released from the children’s cancer hospital. She is there as a symbol to remind patients to never give up.

COLONIAL COFFEE Ranch Resort Discipline: Architecture Project VI University: Unitri Program: Architecture and Urbanism Supervisor: Cynthia de Souza Santos (Doc ) Programs Used: • AutoCAD • Sketchup

The concept and starting point center around an old farmhouse, or Boa Vista Farm, as it was known in the past The headquarters of the farmhouse was built in 1912, and it utilized typical Brazilian rural architecture style.

The new extension and additions convey a rustic but also modern style, however, they retain the charm and styling of the historic Brazilian farms. In addition to prioritizing comfort, the characteristics and landscape of the countryside are also a focal point.

This restoration project proposes an extension of an existing farmhouse to create a ranch resort.

SITE AND LOCATION Location: Araguari, Minas Gerais, Brazil. The ranch area is located in the municipality of Araguari, towards Caldas Novas GO, in the region known as Patrona. It can be accessed via MT 223 and then by heading north on the unpaved road for approximately 10.8 km where there are coffee plantation trees The ranch consist of 8.59 hectare and has a large green area.

Overall, the historic property is in a good state of conservation. Most of the facades have already undergone some type of intervention and are generally well preserved, except for superficial problems such as the lack of stucco and paint on the walls.

Materials The main element, which appears in abundance is the wood of the demolition. It will be applied to floors, furniture, exposed columns and decks. Structural masonry bricks will be exposed on the inside of the rooms, to provide a more rustic appearance.

The following canvasses my final undergraduate project for the architectural and engineering program at TRU.

The project consists of 3 accessory dwelling unit design options that could be purchased by homeowners in the city of Kamloops. The goal was to design a unit that was affordable, easy to build, and that fit most typical 50’x100’ lots in Kamloops, while meeting the garden suite development guidelines and the BC building code. The city of Kamloops zoning bylaw defines garden suites as one storey high buildings under 80m² Accessory dwelling units have a simple shape and minimal footprint which allows them to be more easily placed on most properties. The exterior is simple, and therefore the building doesn’t interfere with the existing house on the lot The indoor spaces have adaptions that allow for space maximization, which also creates more privacy and accessibility.

HESTIA Mixed use Neighborhood Urban Design Project IV Unitri Architecture and Urbanism

The goal of the project was to encourage individuals to live where they work and play where they live, while minimizing their carbon footprint and maximizing their connection with the surroundings

Hestia is a planned mixed use neighborhood with integrated housing, commercial, and leisure constructions that are situated in an ideal location in Uberlandia

The neighborhood was designed to be accessible and allow people to run errands and partake in social engagements more efficiently Through the provision of diversified uses, people will occupy the public spaces at different times of the day, and therefore create less traffic and safety.
