Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office, DPS, and Montgomery County Precinct 2 Constable’s Office. The chase continued through Montgomery County with the driver throwing a gun out as he passed through Conroe. Conroe PD recovered the firearm as the chase continued north. Walker County was notified and Officers attempted to set spikes
on I-45 near the weigh station. Walker County Sheriff’s units then joined the pursuit as did the State Park Police. The sharp curve on the exit ramp put an end to the chase as the rented Maserati became airborn. When the driver reached New Waverly he attempted to exit but did not realize how tight the curve was and flew off the road into the grass. He then
bailed out and fled to a nearby firewood sales business where he was detained by a local resident and then promptly taken into custody by law enforcement. While the investigation is ongoing, marijuana and several thousand dollars in cash were found in the rented Maserati, in addition to the gun recovered in Conroe.
