By Wade Thibodeaux The following article is a compilation of events that have taken place in Walker County Commissioners Court over the last several weeks. After much discussion and several rewrites of the new subdivision regulations, the Court unanimously passed the new regulations for subdivisions that became effective June 1, 2022. The Court voted to hold a public hearing pertaining to an application from George Archie to open a neighborhood road, but then voted to deny the
power load stretchers during a recent meeting and also took action on approving the purchase of electronic citation devices for the Sheriff’s Department and Constables. These are just some of the highlights of recent Court actions with many other items being deliberated and voted on during the court sessions. Walker County Commissioners Court generally meets every other Monday at 9:00am in room 104 of the Walker County Courthouse.
