The Hijazy Cultural Center, Al Saggaf Palace In Saudi Arabia, globalization, the discovery of fossil fuels, and advancements in transportation have had significant positive impact on creating communities that are more tolerant and understanding of other cultures. These advancements come with a number of drawbacks, most of all the disappearance of personal and cultural identity. Therefore, Al-saqqaf Palace in Makkah, one of the last standing historical sites in Mecca, has been designed as a prototype of an initiative to create a cultural centers whose aim is to promote Saudi culture.

Location: Al Saqqaf Palace is a historic palace located in Makkah, west of Saudi Arabia. It was the center of the government under the reign of King Abdulaziz and King Saud bin Abdulaziz. It is also one of the oldest buildings in Makkah with an Islamic architecture because it contains many artistic elements and decorations.Al-Saqqaf Palace is located in the northeast of Makkah in the Al-Abtah neighborhood in Al-Maabda neighborhood. It consists of two floors and has a main entrance with its front façade and two secondary entrances on either side of the main façade. The palace consists of a number of residential units and service buildings for the palace built in different historical periods beginning in 1927 CE and ending at the end of the reign of King Abdul Aziz, but some of these buildings date back to the era of King Abdul Aziz, some of them built after his death. These palaces, buildings and residential units were built on an area of approximately 26,909.8 Square Feet, separated by the Royal Palace Road, which is called Al-Saqqaf Street. It is bordered to the north and west by Um Al-Qura Street, to the south by Al-Malawi neighborhood and to the east by Malawi Street.
Consept Statment: The concept of this project is driven from merging the Historical with the Modern Architecture to create a place that gives you the nostalgia of the past but also, encourages you to create a bright future.
Inspiration: I was inspired by looking into the traditional Hijazi Style and then modernizing it by looking into Carlos Scarpa’s work.

NEXUS DESIGN CENTER This project is a Colabrative Studio betwen Archticture, Sustinabule Desgin, and Interior Archticture students. The goale of this project is to create a NEXUS Design Center for Philadelphia and Jefferson University. In addition, I was responsible for the interior design part, but in general each design decision has to be approved by the other members. This aspect help to create a connection between inside, outside and the sustainable strategies that we used in this project. For this project we should desgin the building acording to the four design matrix that our Professor Rob Fleming developed, which is contant of ( Experience, Performance, System , and Culture). Also, we should have a green certified building we choose to have it as a LEED Platinum. The consept of this project created from a combination between two blocks presents the relationship between a rigid mass which represents the architectural aspects from Philadelphia University, and the medical motional aspect from Jefferson University.

BAKERY Concept Statement
My concept is based on aroma. I used curvilinear lines and organic shapes to emphasize the movement of aroma through space.
Inspiration
My research for this project involved visiting local bakeries. I was inspired by the smells of fresh baked breads and pastries and wanted to incorporate this quality into my design.

OBSERVATION CONTOUR DRAWING
These two drawing were an exercise for drawing a perspective in different places with different angle. The aim was of this assignment is using the pencil as a measuring tool to translate the dimensions into a 2d drawing. From this assignment I learned how to draw a quick, and readable perspective.
60
SKETCH JOURNAL
This exercise is drawing a weekly sketches of famous furniture pieces using different media for rendering. Through this exercise I learned how to use color pencil, marker ink, but we used mostly photoshop. Through the use of Photoshop, I learned how to use my knowledge from the previous exercise we had. Such as, contouring the space, and adding shadow and light. And harness in this knowledge by using different type of brushes and color shade.

ILLUSTRATING MY BRAND (ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR)
The purpose of this assignment is learning how to create logo in order to brand for yourself by using Illustrator. Through this exercise I learned how to brand for myself and how to use illustrator. This assignment was in different stages. I begin by exploring the program by using different brushes and playing with the line thickness. After that, I narrowed my choices down into two of my favorites. Next, I start refining the one that I liked the most. Finally, I did some more editing and created a composition of three schemes: grayscale, color, and the logo with a black background.
