These programs are designed to give you the knowledge and credits to satisfy the first two years of university coursework.

On average, Wake Tech graduates who transfer to a UNC System institution have a higher GPA after one year than students who start at the university.

MAAB ALDULIMY

Associate in Science & Associate in Engineering

After graduating high school, Maab Aldulimy was attracted to Wake Tech’s affordable tuition. Two years later, she earned two associate degrees and the prestigious Goodnight Transfer Scholarship to attend NC State University. In 2022, she was selected as NC State’s student commencement speaker.

MAX VERPLANK

AAS, Building Automation Technology

Max Verplank originally enrolled in the automotive program at Wake Tech, but after he was hired as an HVAC technician, he was hooked! He switched to the college’s new Building Automation Technology program and has started a promising career in this emerging field.

A specialized campus preparing students for careers in nursing, dental, EMS, imaging, medical assisting, pharmacy technology, and other high- demand healthcare professions. Home of the highly acclaimed Martha Mann Smith School of Nursing.

Associate in Engineering

As an engineering major, Kennedi Williams jumped at the chance to participate in Wake Tech’s STEM Academic Research and Training (START) paid internship program, working alongside scientists and engineers from Duke University and NC State. Her career goal is to work at NASA.

As a student, you’re eligible to apply a scholarship through the Wake Tech Foundation, which can help you achieve your dream of earning a college degree. Scholarships are based on financial need or academic merit. Some are based on program of study, and some include leadership opportunities.

In 2021, nursing student Annia Izquierdo was named one of two Wake Tech Scott Scholars. The prestigious award helped pay for tuition, fees and books, and came with a laptop, a summer internship placement, and a mentor from senior administration.

“This generous scholarship helped alleviate some of the financial obligations of college tuition so I could pursue my goal of becoming a medical professional and making a positive impact on other people.”
