For over 20 years Vistalite Richmond has been a trusted name in aluminium windows, doors and conservatories and retro fit double glazing. While new owners Rod Satherley and Helen Petterson may not yet be experts in manufacturing such products, they do have a background owning, operating and managing other businesses within the local area and are looking forward to continuing the professional service, competitive prices and quality products that people associate with the Vistalite brand. Rod is well known in the Nelson and Richmond district, previously owning and running several corner dairies and lotto outlets. Haven Road Dairy won Top Shop 2000 under his ownership. While Helen has a long dairy farming background, she has training in floristry, vet nursing and dental assisting too. More recently Rod was working as an account manager for Hynds Pipe Systems, supplying companies such as Downers and Fulton Hogan, until he took over ownership of Vistalite in April this year. “I just liked the thought of getting back in to a nice small business and doing something for myself again,” says Rod. Although Rod has only been at the helm of the locally owned and operated business
for just under two months, he has already noticed the huge amount of repeat work that Vistalite receives, thanks to the dedication of previous owner Trevor Norris, who had the business for 25 years, and the professional team. Rod believes his past role as accounts manager has given him the skills to take on Vistalite Richmond and is keen to learn the nuts and bolts of the business so he can maintain the reputable name that Trevor successfully achieved.
