Nelson-Tasman residents have access to state-of-the-art eyecare services thanks to a brand-new store at Richmond Mall. With five consulting rooms and a large frame display area, the new and improved Specsavers Richmond is more than double the size of its original premises and will offer its growing customer base free access to cutting-edge eyecare technology. After 10 years at the original location, co-directors Mick Toll and Brechon Mutch and store manager Craig Hockley were excited to reopen their
doors on Tuesday, 5 June. “Since I helped Specsavers Richmond first open in 2008, we’ve completed over 56,000 eye tests and sold over 64,000 pairs of frames. We are excited to continue looking after the eye health of our community out of our new space.” says optometrist Mick. “We are all looking forward to welcoming new and existing patients to visit our fantastic new premises.” Part of Specsavers Richmond’s offering is a new OCT Diagnostic Scan machine which can help detect a range of diseases by taking detailed three-
dimensional images of the eye. “OCT screening can help detect a range of diseases including glaucoma and diabetes, and is included in every comprehensive eye test at our store.” says Mick. “Many patients don’t realise that an eye examination is more than just checking your vision for glasses. While that is always an element, an eye test is actually an important health check that even people with good vision should have at least once every two years.” Specsavers Richmond has four optometrists’ testing seven days per week and offers free
