The College has a level entrance, a number of fully-accessible bedrooms and conference rooms, with lifts or stairclimbers to access almost every corner of the site.

On the last day of July 1610, the foundation stone of Wadham College, Oxford was laid. King James I was on the throne of England and William Shakespeare was writing and working in Oxford and London.

Through determined negotiation that is impressive even today, 75-year-old Dorothy Wadham, widow of Sir Nicholas Wadham, bought a prime site in the heart of Oxford to realise her husband’s last wish –to build and endow a new centre of learning.

If you prefer the 21st century experience, we have newly built accommodation blocks on the main College site in Oxford and offsite, just outside the city centre.
