INSIDE OUT
Inside Out is a project for the IIDA Student Booth Design Competition at Orgatec 2018, Trade Fair in Cologne, Germany. The main point of this project is to create a promoting space that can clearly show the mission of IIDA and significantly impress the visitors of Orgatec Trade Fair. Based on the view of connecting designers from all over the world and the image of ocean waves,the project based on the idea of using cubes with multiple colors to build up a wavy dome. The raise and the connection between colorful cubes represent the relationship between memberships and designers of IIDA. Furthermore, due to the combination of curvy shapes and cubes, Inside Out creates a comfortable gathering space for visitors to come and gain more information about IIDA, the working processes, benefits and their future goal.

BIRD’S EYE VIEW
The project provides two main areas with various views including an inside part and an outside space that base on two different sides of the wavy dome. These two areas are created by the accumulation of the cubes from the ground up to the ceiling following the curvy form, which shows the idea of connecting the cubes. In order to create that form, firstly the metal structure needs to be shaped in wavy form. Secondly, the cubes, which are made from transparent plastic, will be attached on the durable metal frame. In this point, the metal skeleton plays a role of a global network, the cubes represent the designers, the students, and the members of the Association that they integrate into this Design society.

IDEAS
The idea is the combination between the movement of surf and cubes. The image of surf provides the feeling of covering, gathering, which is similar to the main point of IIDA, creating a global community where designers and students are able to get closer together. Furthermore, I choose the cubes to represent individuals in the Association since IIDA shows through the logo that their style is basic, simple with straight lines and basic forms.

CRYSTAL CUBE
Crystal cube is a custom part of the dome which is also able to be used as a storage. The reason of choosing transparent materials is to let the light go through, and to make a connection between two areas just like building a strong relationship between the Association in various regions in the world. From that reason, people who stay in inside area are still able to see outside sights. Also, visitors can see through the inside part even they are walking in the outside space. Furthermore, with transparent system, residents are able to recognize the IIDA from many views.

INSPIRATION AND IDEAS
The main focus of this project is the connection between generations in the company. With over 40 year-experience, Indoor Garden Design has strong human resources from different generations. Owing to that view, creating a working place with the combination of nostalgic atmosphere and modern components will bring individuals closer together. Based on the image of the traditional bridges in London, the project provides the image of a park located next to a bridge, which reflect various bridge activities that people has always performed, such as picnicking, sun-bathing, reading, or just enjoying fresh air and green grass.
