MEET & GREET
On December 16th, during the Day of Reconciliation celebrations in South Africa, Cape Town was alive with energy. At noon, in one of the city’s busiest hotels had a lobby buzzing with excitement. Tourists hurriedly checked out, some anxiously late for flights, while others lingered, wishing they could stay longer.
We were eagerly anticipating a “meet and greet” with a remarkable woman—a driving force behind a pivotal South African fundraising event when the people of Detroit raised over $1 million during a crucial period for our country after Tata Madiba's release.
When she finally arrived, the Lady of Detroit brought an aura of tranquility that seemed to calm the chaos. Her presence exuded composure and poise. She embodied the vision of a well-balanced woman, deeply rooted in stability.
Words cannot fully convey our gratitude that, among all the remarkable women in the world connected to the Universe Crown Chakra sculpture, it is she who has resonated with it so profoundly. A trailblazer of extraordinary stature, we are thankful for her impactful contributions to our nation.
My Queens, it is with immense gratitude that we introduce Shahida Mausi, whose grace and generosity of spirit inspired our “Seeds of Freedom: Empowering Women Through Self-Sustainability” campaign. Her story of maintaining inner peace while uplifting others serves as a beacon of inspiration for us all. Prepare to be inspired as Shahida shares her insights on grounding ourselves in peace and making a lasting impact. Link in bio

SEEDS OF FREEDOM: EMPOWERING WOMEN THROUGH SELFSUSTAINABILITY: A DEEP DIVE WITH SHAHIDA MAUSI
As we honor Women's Month this August in South Africa, we commemorate the fearless women of all races who marched on August 9, 1956, to the Union Buildings to protest pass laws. Today, we spotlight a woman whose life and work have profoundly impacted our South African journey toward freedom and democracy.
It is with great honor that we introduce Shahida Mausi, a visionary whose life and career echo the spirit of those brave marchers. As the President and Owner of The Right Productions, Shahida manages and operates The Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre in Detroit, creating platforms that amplify voices and stories that matter.

Shahida has made monumental strides in her career, including producing a historic event for Tata Madiba and Mam Winnie Mandela’s visit to Detroit. Shortly after being released from prison in South Africa, Tata Mandela embarked on a fundraising tour in the US. In Detroit, he addressed a massive crowd at Tiger Stadium. Under Shahida's leadership, the stadium transformed into a vibrant concert venue, attracting over 50,000 attendees and reaching hundreds of thousands more through televised coverage. Performers included Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, the Winans, Frankie Beverly & Maze, a 2000-voice choir, Dr. Teddy Harris Jr., and more.
This event marked the first Ticketmaster event ever held at Tiger Stadium, requiring Shahida and her team to start from scratch. The unforgettable scene grossed over $1 million for Tata Mandela's anti-apartheid efforts, truly capturing the indomitable spirit of Detroit.
In this feature, Shahida delves into the importance of grounding ourselves in peace, strength, and centeredness to amplify our impact. She emphasizes the need for self-care, a crucial aspect often overlooked by women who are accustomed to caring for others. Shahida stresses that we cannot give from an empty well—taking care of ourselves is paramount. She encourages women not to feel ashamed or apologetic about prioritizing self-care; it is a deserved necessity.
Furthermore, Shahida expresses her gratitude for her femininity. She highlights the music that fuels her inspiration, specifically mentioning a song called "Walk Right" by Kaovanny.
Her insights offer invaluable lessons to all women of the world on maintaining one's well-being while uplifting others, making the interview a must-watch for all women seeking inspiration - IG:@vuyooyiyanetwork.
