The new space would allow us to be able to accept the amount of food share and reclamation that we qualify for. We must currently decline these donations due to lack of space. This means our clients go without this food. A Community Kitchen is also included in the plans, so we can teach people how to make inexpensive meals and to use donated and community items. An appropriate sorting area with sinks will allow us to buy in bulk, saving funds for some educational programing.

Go to the CIR website @ cirrealty.ca On the right hand corner it says “In My Backyard Contest” - Click on it. We are under category 2 which is the Community Facility Improvement Grant—click it, hit vote for this category – you may have to log in - it is easy just use your email address and create a password. You may also share this with friends - please do, they can vote as well. Voting starts Monday September 15th. On November 1st, the entry with the most votes in each category will win a $5000 grant from CIR REALTY!
