DEAR READERS,
As the leaves begin to change and autumn settles in, there’s a certain magic in the air that makes this season unlike any other. Fall has always been a time of renewal—crisp days, golden sunsets, and the anticipation of new beginnings. At VUE Magazine, we embrace this shift in season by curating a collection of stories that celebrate beauty, style, and inspiration in its many forms.
This issue’s cover feature highlights the extraordinary Vitalina Ghinzelli, whose bold vision and artistry have redefined what it means to make a statement in high fashion. Her collection of striking hats blends elegance with daring design, offering pieces that are not only accessories but works of art. With every silhouette, every sculptural detail, Vitalina proves that style can be transformative—an expression of identity and confidence. It’s an honor to showcase her on our Fall cover, and we hope her creativity inspires you as much as it has inspired us.
Inside the pages, our Fall Fashion spread captures the season’s most timeless looks, from layered textures to refined tailoring. Autumn fashion has a way of combining warmth and sophistication, and our editorial brings together pieces that strike that perfect balance of comfort and high style.
For those looking to escape before the holiday rush, we journey to Lizard Island Resort, a destination that epitomizes barefoot luxury. Tucked away on the Great Barrier Reef, it’s a paradise of pristine waters, exclusive experiences, and pure tranquility—an idyllic retreat for those seeking adventure or simply the quiet beauty of an untouched escape.
And of course, no Fall issue would be complete without celebrating the season’s most comforting indulgences. Our editors have curated a list of the best restaurants to savor this autumn, from cozy hideaways with seasonal menus to bold new culinary experiences worth discovering. Whether it’s the perfect glass of wine by a crackling fireplace or a dish that captures the flavors of the season, these dining destinations remind us why fall is such a beloved time for food lovers.

As we turn the page on summer and welcome the beauty of fall, we are reminded that this season is about balance— between vibrancy and calm, tradition and reinvention. Just as the leaves transform, we too find ways to refresh our own outlooks, wardrobes, and experiences.
On behalf of our team, thank you for continuing to be part of the VUE community. May this issue inspire you to embrace the richness of the season, whether through fashion, travel, dining, or simply pausing to admire the beauty that surrounds us.
Wishing you a stylish and inspiring fall,

1. How did you get started as a content creator, and what drew you specifically to the Long Island food scene?
I have always loved to cook, eat, and try new things! New experiences excite me. I love visiting new restaurants on Long Island and exploring. I have always been a creative person. I would always take photos of food, whether it was a meal I made at home or while dining out. I decided to make my own separate Instagram page to post my food content and that is when @FoodieFavsLI was born. In the last few years Instagram transitioned to mostly video (reel) style content, I began creating recipe content and featured a few restaurants and events I visited in video format and it took off!
2. How would you describe the Long Island dining scene to someone who’s never experienced it?
First, I’d like to say we are way more than just pizza and bagels! (And don’t get me wrong I absolutely LOVE both foods!) If you are a foodie, the Long Island dining scene is a dream! We have it all and everything in between. From longstanding Mom and Pop restaurants to new, trendy spots with all the Instagram-worthy aesthetics and even farm-to-table restaurants with locally sourced fare. There’s truly something for everyone on Long Island!
3. When you’re not chasing the latest trend, where do you go for a guaranteed perfect meal?
To me, there is nothing like a classic chicken parmigiana and pasta. I grew up in an Italian-American household so this is definitely a comfort food we had often. I will typically visit one of my favorite local Italian restaurants (there are too many I love to name just one!) and order my ultimate comfort meal.
4. What do you think the next big dining trend on Long Island will be?
I believe the next big dining trend on Long Island will center around homemade, authentic cuisine. It seems there is a rise in specialty restaurants that focus on simple, handcrafted dishes, such as homemade pasta. There’s a growing appreciation for honest flavors and recipes that feel like home. I think we’re heading toward a return to simplicity in dining, where quality and authenticity take the spotlight.
RAPID-FIRE ROUND: GUT INSTINCT
ONLY!
No overthinking, just pure foodie instinct.
1. One Long Island dish you’d fight someone over because it’s that good?
You will have to fight me for my warm lobster roll—a staple during the summer on Long Island!
2. Overrated or underrated: truffle oil?
Truffle oil is underrated and a total YES in my book! Specifically mushroom truffle pizza or Parmesan truffle fries, heavenly!
3. You can only eat at ONE restaurant for the rest of the year—what’s the pick?
I’d have to go with Roadtrip in Bay Shore. Their menu is super diverse, and the rotating weekly specials keep things fresh. There’s always something new to try, so it’s a place I could never get bored of.
4. Aliens land on Long Island and you have to convince them to stay using food…what dish are you serving?
I can never say no to a fresh made, piping hot slice of pizza. So if aliens landed on Long Island, I’d serve them a fresh, hot grandma slice from a classic local pizzeria. Once they take their first bite they’ll understand why Long Island is known for its pizza!

Fall Is Upon Us
and what a better time than now to share the recipe for my most loved Buffalo
Chickpea Dip! Warming, creamy, and just right for the season!
This recipe is 100% free of any hormones, steroids, or antibiotics that would otherwise be in your traditional buffalo dip containing cow dairy & chicken. It is deliciously flavorful and filling without giving you that Sunday football bloat or food coma. There is something nice about a nostalgic dish with a spin on quality and nutrient variety. What's even better is that this dish works for all. Gluten or lactose-intolerant guest at your next party? No problem!
I hope you give this buffalo dip a try this fall. It will not disappoint.
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Ingredients:
• 15 oz can of cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
• 15 oz can of chickpeas, drained and rinsed
• 1 cup raw cashews
• ¾ cup hot sauce
• ½ cup non-dairy milk
• ½ lemon, juiced
• 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast
• 1 teaspoon paprika
• ½ teaspoon onion powder
• ½ teaspoon garlic powder
• 1 teaspoon salt
• ½ teaspoon white pepper (optional, it has a solid kick without this)
• 1 cup shredded vegan cheddar cheese
• Fresh scallion, for garnish
Nutrient Highlight
Chickpeas are a nutritional powerhouse rich in fiber, protein, iron, and folate.
In a Nutribullet or Vitamix blender, add cashews, cannellini beans, hot sauce, milk, lemon juice, nutritional yeast, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Process until very smooth.

Transfer to a 9×9-inch (23×23 cm) baking dish and stir in chickpeas and cheese. Bake for 30 minutes. Garnish with scallions, if desired. Serve with celery sticks or pita chips.
Notes:
Frank’s Red Hot is, in my opinion, the best for this.
If using regular cow milk and cheese, opt for grass-fed and finished variety. Some grocers even offer a certified antibiotic-free option. I use MALK Almond Milk & VioLife Cheddar Shreds brands from Whole Foods to keep it as clean as possible. (Many of the other vegan alternative brands are loaded with junk chemicals that you do not want). If your blender is another brand make sure it is able to break down cashews to be fully smooth. If not, use a food processor! The dip will turn out gritty otherwise.

“Bold blush trends are not going away for fall of 2025. However, boyfriend blush appears more undone or natural since it mimics a natural flush from physical activity.
Try this trend by applying blush to the apples of your cheek and then blending outward. Carry what’s left on your brush across your nose. As summer tans start to fade, this is a great way to maintain color in the face.
Boyfriend blush looks good on all face shapes & skin tones. It gives off a fresh, youthful, undone glow.
I prefer to achieve this look with a cream or liquid formula over a powder. You can either use your fingers or a brush to apply.”

Tucked beneath the imposing cliffs of the Stags Leap Palisades in Napa Valley lies a vineyard with a history as layered and enduring as the volcanic soil it grows from. Stags’ Leap Winery isn’t just a producer of acclaimed wines; it’s a living estate, shaped by over 150 years of romance, reinvention, and quiet resilience.

But like many great estates, the years brought decline. After the Granges passed, the property was abandoned—its buildings boarded up, its vines left to the wild. For nearly two decades, the house stood empty, rumored to be occupied by squatters and frequented by curious locals. Then, in 1970, Carl Doumani, a Los Angeles restaurateur with a reverence for history and an eye for potential, entered the scene. Over nine years, he meticulously restored the estate and
brought the winemaking operation back to life, placing Stags’ Leap on the map with a following for its Petite Sirah.
Since 1996, under the stewardship of Treasury Wine Estates, the legacy has continued to evolve. A massive wine cave has been carved into the Palisades, mirroring the original 1893 cave but on a more ambitious scale. An apothecary garden, developed by Robert Brittan and Jonathan Plant, cultivates herbs and

botanicals meant to mirror the aromas and tasting notes found in the estate’s wines—a sensory experience rooted in the land.
Stags’ Leap is, at its core, a place of stories of eras passed and reclaimed, of craftsmanship born from both patience and passion. To walk the property—or to taste from its cellar—is to feel the presence of those who came before, and the legacy that continues to unfold.

how two brothers built daniel house club into a procurement powerhouse
BY FRANKIE WYNNEWOOD

Brothers by birth, business partners by design. What started as a shared frustration in their interior design practice led Peter and Alexander Spalding to build Daniel House Club—a platform that streamlines the most chaotic part of the industry: procurement. Rooted in their father’s legacy and driven by a desire to make designers' lives easier, the brothers are redefining what it means to work with family.
founding & inspiration
Q: What inspired you both to create Daniel House Club, and how did your experiences with Daniel House Studios shape the concept?
A: Daniel House Club really grew organically out of our interior design practice. There, we learned that one of the most profitable areas of the business can be procurement, but it’s a very difficult thing to master. Working directly with vendors is challenging, and it’s tough to maintain accounts with enough of them to make each project feel unique to your clients. It was when we tracked 60 hours to the procurement of a single sofa–and this story wasn’t foreign to many of our other interior design friends and colleagues–that we knew this was an area that desperately needed improvement.

Q: Why was it important for you to name the company after your father, and how does that family connection influence the brand’s identity?
A: Our father was a community leader and businessman in the city where we grew up. We both admired him for different reasons. He was generous with his time and his ideas. Even 20 years after his passing, we continue to receive letters of thanks from people who identify him as one of the key reasons they reached their career goals. We are not really interested in creating a family business, but we are interested in creating a place where our colleagues regard one another as family and where our clients draw energy from the healthy communication that emanates from the environment we’re working to build. Neither of us is programmed to be that social, so this is a day-by-day effort for us, but it feels like it’s taking shape.
business & design philosophy
Q: What gap in the market did you see that other platforms weren’t addressing for interior designers?
A: There are a lot of platforms out there offering designers sexy tools that will help them make prettier mood boards, build white labeled e-commerce storefronts, or handle their accounting. We feel designers have enough options there. There are also a lot of wonderful and exciting places to shop online and in person. It is easy to find what you are looking for if you are an interior designer, but it’s often very difficult to actually buy that thing. We make it easy for you to purchase what you are looking for and do it profitably.
Q: Daniel House Club is known for making the procurement process easier—what specific pain points were you trying to solve?
A: The first pain point we solve is reducing the amount of communication a designer has with their many vendors. We handle all this on our clients’ behalf and it saves them, literally, hundreds of hours. Many report that we have saved them from hiring an internal buying agent. We also solve a lot of shipping logistics pain points; we send every client an open order report each week with updated tracking information for every item they ordered. This is all the very boring stuff that no designer dreams of doing, but many end up spending most of their waking hours worrying about.

Q: How do you balance running a business with staying connected to the creative side of design?
A: Reading new publications, discovering new products, and interacting with new people is a necessity in this business. It’s probably the last of these that drives our own creativity forward the most. Every time we add a new team member or advisor, they come with a different set of experiences and viewpoints. Often, they help us see something we’ve never understood before, and that unlocks new creativity. The only sad thing about running a furniture business is that it makes it less exciting to go to a new hotel or restaurant when you’ve seen everything the designer specified months before it was even available. It does sort of destroy the wonder of it all. It’s still fun to see how they mixed it together to arrive at a unique point of view.
family dynamic
Q: What’s it like running a company as brothers? Do you each bring different strengths to the table?
A: It’s hard. Truthfully, we don’t always enjoy each other or care to understand each other's perspective; what siblings do? But, we usually want to end up in the same place, and we offer pretty different skill sets to get there, so it’s fairly obvious which of us should take on what. We do often know what the other is thinking, so there is some advantage in finding agreement without speaking. It is so helpful to have a bigger team, so we less frequently have to work directly on projects together. Outside of work, we both like British comedy, big old houses, boundless travel, and Diet Coke, so there’s more common ground than perhaps we’ve conveyed.
Q: Has working together changed your relationship in any way—either personally or professionally?
A: Yes. We see each other less outside of work. Eight hours a day is plenty. We are also less likely to pick an argument over something mundane. We have learned things from each other, but we can’t list them here because it’s doubtful we’d admit that to one another.
growth & vision
Q: Since launching in 2015, how has Daniel House Club evolved, and what’s next for the company?
A: Even when we began as a design firm, we knew we wanted it to be more. Both of us were a little anti-professionalism. We tended to shun anything that had too much gloss about it. We do think we got that from both of our parents, who were not really different people from one setting to the next. We are pleased to have maintained that, but we have a lot of systems and processes that move us out of our favorite ideation phase and into real-world planning and implementation.
In terms of what we offer our clients, our goals and values have remained the same–we put designers first, we offer simple, not easy solutions, we try, learn, and try again, we own our actions and their impact, and we have fun doing it. Those will stay our values, and anything new we offer will be tested against those values before we move to implementation.
Q: What are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced as entrepreneurs, and how did you overcome them?
A: Our company has come of age in relatively unstable times. We’re sure predicting what will work from one quarter to the next has always been hard, but world events have made those predictions both extremely important and often meaningless. Even though what our business does is pretty standard in our industry, the way we do it has been considered disruptive by some. We’re here to offer designers what they need, and we’ve often come up against people who don’t understand or don’t want to admit that their clients’ needs have changed.
style & industry insight
Q: What design trends are you most excited about right now, and how does Daniel House Club stay ahead of them?
A: We’re liking the continued embrace of Wabi-sabi–less gloss and show, more imperfection. We’re also enjoying a return to more normal forms after several years of weird, bulbous furniture that’s hard to fit in a room. The renewed focus on materiality seems to be driving up the quality of even middleof-the-road manufacturers.
Q: If you could give one piece of advice to young interior designers or design firms, what would it be?
A: Don’t go into business with your brother. We kid, of course. Our advice would be to work for a few different people before you go off on your own. Work for someone whose aesthetic you think is boring but who seems to be completing a lot of jobs. Learn their systems. Work for someone whose work you love and see if things are running smoothly. Work for a supplier and understand what impact a designer’s particular needs have on them. Learn the business of design and treat everyone with dignity, and we think work will come flowing your way.
RapidFire

Q: Dream collaboration?
A: Beata Heuman–we’d love to offer her product to the US market.
Q: Most-used item in your own home from Daniel House Club?
A: The Sferra Grand Hotel Sheet set in Banana.
Q: One piece of furniture or décor you’ll never part with?
A: An inherited tapestry of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Q: Morning person or night owl (and how does that play into your work together)?
A: Peter wakes up at 5:00 A.M. and Alex is more likely going to sleep at that time, which is perfect, because we are often working at different hours.

In the hands of Vitalina Ghinzelli, the hat transcends its function. It becomes sculpture, poetry, legacy. Her creations are not mere adornments, but heirlooms of artistry—objects that bestow presence and grace upon their wearer. With every curve and crown, she redefines what it means to embody elegance.
With a signature blend of timeless craftsmanship and modern elegance, Vitalina Ghinzelli has redefined what it means to wear a hat as a statement of confidence and individuality. From her earliest days—shaped by family, heritage, and a passion for artistry—to her handcrafted collections that marry delicate textures with bold silhouettes, Vitalina invites us into a world where every piece tells a story. As the leaves turn and fall’s rich palette unfolds, we sat down with Vitalina to explore her journey, inspirations, and the seasonal magic woven into her latest designs.
Q: Where did you grow up, and how has your upbringing and family history influenced the creative vision you have today?

A: I was born in Antonio Prado, a small town in southern Brazil known as the most Italian town in the country, nestled in Rio Grande do Sul. Growing up surrounded by vineyards shaped my creative vision in profound ways. I have vivid memories of helping my grandfather collect grapes during harvest season. He’d pay me for my efforts, and I once saved up 28 units of the local currency—though I can’t recall its name now—to buy a Barbie doll. That Barbie became a canvas for my early creativity. Even as a young child, I was handling real needles and scissors, transforming fabric scraps into dresses for her. I also learned cross-stitch and fabric painting, which felt like magic to me.One memory stands out: when I was eight, a kind woman named Adelaide Favretto, now 94, gave me kitchen and
bathroom towels to paint. I poured my heart into decorating them, and when I returned the finished pieces, she paid me. That moment made me feel so valued, and it sparked a lifelong passion for creating with purpose. I still visit Adelaide when I return to Antonio Prado, and those early experiences continue to inspire me. My roots in this tight-knit, craft-loving community have deeply influenced my work. I’m currently collaborating with talented women from my town who create beautiful crafts. I’m incorporating their techniques into a new hat collection, blending the traditional artistry of Antonio Prado with my modern vision. Those early moments of stitching and painting are part of the many experiences that shape my creative work today.

A HAT IS NOT WORN— IT IS INHABITED.”
Q: Each hat you create feels like a timeless piece of art. What inspires you to infuse artistry and individuality into every design?
A: Every hat I create is a reflection of the world around me, transformed into wearable art. My inspiration comes from everything I see, my surroundings, my memories, and the details of everyday moments. Most times, I have to write down these sparks of inspiration so I don’t forget them, as ideas come to me faster than I can bring them to life. I used to travel extensively, and those experiences left a lasting mark. When I recall a place, its colors, textures, energy…I imagine how I could translate its essence into a hat design that sits proudly on the head. My childhood in Antonio Prado, surrounded by vineyards and immersed in crafts like croche, cross-stitch, and fabric painting, also shapes my vision. I often think back to those early days, picturing how I can weave the textures, colors, and patterns of my youth into unique designs. Each hat becomes a timeless expression of individuality, blending the stories of my travels, my heritage, and the beauty I find in daily life. I only wish I had more time to bring every idea in my mind to reality.
Q: The Kate and The Leo are so distinct—one embodying serene elegance, the other bold asymmetry. How do these differing styles represent your creative range?
A: The Kate is an ode to timeless grace. Its lines and proportions evoke a sense of calm and sophistication. In contrast, The Leo is unapologetically bold, asymmetric curves that demand attention. Its dynamic shapes and unexpected angles reflect a fearless spirit. I enjoy creating everything including the opposites, pieces that speak to different facets of the human experience. Whether it’s the tranquil elegance of The Kate or the daring asymmetry of The Leo, my work is about giving voice to individuality. Each design invites the wearer to express who they are, whether that’s through serene poise or bold defiance. My hats are crafted with a gentle nod to everyone, inviting all to find a piece that resonates with their own story.
Q: Your brand emphasizes that no two hats are ever the same. How do you maintain that uniqueness, even when crafting made-to-order pieces?
A: When a client falls in love with a particular style, I may craft a second piece inspired by it, some designs are simply too special not to revisit two or three times. However, the natural materials I cherish, like parasisal straw or feathersor leather, ensure each hat remains one-of-a-kind. The fibers of these materials often take dye differently, resulting in subtle variations in color that make each piece distinct. Similarly, no two feathers share the exact same pattern, adding a unique flourish to every hat. Even when I’ve recreated a style at a client’s request, these organic nuances, combined with my handcrafted process, guarantee that each hat carries its own story and uniqueness, reflecting the individuality of both the wearer and the materials.

Q: What was the first hat you ever made, and what do you remember about that experience?
A: My first hat was crafted in the South of France, under the guidance of my teacher, Tracy, who introduced me to the intricacies of the free-form process. I remember it so vividly, it was such a joyful experience, filled with the thrill of discovery. Tracy showed me how to let the materials guide the design, teaching me to embrace every curve and contour. Though every beginning takes its time, and I certainly felt those early challenges, the process was pure fun. The room we worked in was bright and beautiful, with sunlight streaming in, making it easy to see every little detail as I shaped my first piece. I was happy to finally return to my crafts, which I had to leave behind for many years after moving to the USA.

THECONCOURS CLUB: WHERE PRECISION MEETS PRESTIGE

Tucked behind the private gates of Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport lies a destination that’s redefining the boundaries between adrenaline and elegance. This is not your average racetrack—it’s
The Concours Club, where ultra-luxury living meets high-octane performance, and a community of discerning members come to play, train, and indulge. Here, precision driving is only half the story; the other half is told through curated wine pairings, Michelin-level cuisine, and an unwavering commitment to exclusivity.
Founded on the vision of creating the world’s most refined automotive playground, The Concours Club has carved out its own lane. And while it’s a magnet for car enthusiasts and motorsport veterans alike, the Club’s true magic lies in the way it blends motorsport with the intimacy of a private resort. This isn’t just about the cars—it’s about the experience.

PERFORMANCE MEETS PERFECTION
At the core of The Concours Club is its state-of-the-art, FIA-certified driving circuit—over two miles of perfectly engineered asphalt designed for every skill level. Whether you’re a seasoned driver chasing tenths of a second or a first-timer seeking precision and confidence behind the wheel, this track delivers.
It features a 2,100-foot straightaway, multiple elevations, and the kind of tech usually reserved for Formula 1 teams: predictive electronic flagging, semi-autonomous marshalling, and real-time coaching via GPX Stream’s system powered by Sony’s 5G-enabled PDT-FP1 transmitter .
But don’t mistake this place for a pure performance facility. While its roots lie in motorsport, The Concours Club operates with the polish of a five-star resort. It’s the kind of place where laps are followed by lavender-scented towels and debriefs take place over Champagne, not Gatorade.
A PARTNERSHIP OF PRESTIGE
Recently, The Concours Club further solidified its status as the pinnacle of automotive lifestyle destinations with the announcement of its official partnership with Aston Martin. The revered British automaker— synonymous with cinematic cool and superlative engineering—is now the Official Car of The Concours Club. The partnership brings members unprecedented access to Aston Martin’s elite lineup, including the Vantage, the DBX707, and the world’s first Super Tourer, the DB12 .
This collaboration isn’t just about name recognition—it’s experiential. From curated driving programs to VIP transport and immersive activations, Aston Martin is embedded into the fabric of the Club’s lifestyle offerings. As Club President Aaron Weiss put it, “Aston Martin is a natural fit. This partnership allows us to push our ethos even further—offering a seamless blend of performance and luxury.”

"This partnersh i p allow s us to push our et hos e ven f urther - o ffering a s eamless ble nd o f p erformance and l uxury . "
MORE THAN A CLUB - A CULTURE
Of course, driving is just the beginning. The Concours Club has built a culture around elevated hospitality. At the heart of this offering is Verge, the Club’s exclusive dining destination, led by award-winning Chef Brad Kilgore. Known for his progressive American cuisine and deep reverence for indigenous Floridian ingredients, Kilgore has created a menu worthy of the Michelin stage. Offerings extend from foie gras torchon paired with single-vineyard Cabernet to post-lap Wagyu sliders served with chilled Krug.
Complementing Verge is the wine program, helmed by Master Sommelier Dan Pilkey, whose expertise spans Michelin-starred restaurants, private cellar acquisitions, and elite tasting groups. His handpicked wine experiences at the Club are as thrilling as any lap time—offering members a taste of the rarest vintages and most storied producers.
And then there’s the bespoke concierge service. From curated cultural events to custom vehicle transport and on-site VIP entertainment, members are treated like royalty. The Club’s social calendar reads like a Forbes travel itinerary—complete with exclusive dinners, branded activations, and celebrity-studded race weekends.

"His
handpicked wine experiences at the Club are as thrilling as any lap time."
THE FUTURE OF LUXURY MOTORSPORT
The Concours Club is more than a venue—it’s a vision of what the future of motorsport can be. Through strategic partnerships with global leaders like Aston Martin and Sony, the Club continues to elevate the standard of performance training, entertainment, and community. Whether you’re navigating a hairpin at 140 mph or sipping a Grand Cru in the Member’s Lounge, every detail is engineered for excellence.
In a city already known for its spectacle, The Concours Club has carved out a niche that’s somehow even more exclusive. It’s not just a destination for the elite—it’s a canvas for those who dream in carbon fiber, crave curated luxury, and know that the best rides in life are driven by passion.

FARR O W & BALL
Colouring Our World
FOR 80 YEARS
BY KRISTIN ACCORSI
Inevitably, the decision to redecorate–be it a room, office, or entire home–invokes images of countless paint colour swatches painstakingly poised against walls, with questions like “what do you think of this one?” endlessly volleyed back and forth in discussion. However, for customers of Farrow & Ball, their curated palette of 132 colours, coupled with their Colour Consultancy service, provides an effortless offering as timeless as their luxury paints and wallpapers.
For Kathleen Brennan, a Colour Consultant for Farrow & Ball for the last five years, “we are looking at things holistically, designing space and using colour as the vehicle.” More often than not, she says, “colour is the largest surface area[...]you want the paint to not disappear; it becomes the canvas rather than the actual statement.” If redecorating a room feels intimidating, Kathleen encourages that “paint is a hugely effective way to transform a room without changing a lot of other elements. One gallon of paint and clever, judicious rehanging of pictures, moving around furniture, using what you have around your house[…]you can create a whole new look for one gallon of paint.” Whether
in-person or through virtual meetings, Kathleen is passionate about helping everyone from home owners, business owners, and interior designers find their “best palettes and finish solutions for their lifestyles, tastes, and homes.”
As a personal customer of Farrow & Ball for 16 years, Kathleen brings her own experience–and design background–to every project she takes on. “I found it because I needed to find a brand of paint that wouldn’t give me headaches,” she recalls. “The first room I painted was our bedroom. For me, it was transformative. I could paint my house and not live with the fumes for days.” With low odor water-based finishes, Farrow & Ball paints do not contain the level of Volatile Organic Compounds, known as VOC, that is common across other name-brand paint companies. While she may have initially been drawn to Farrow & Ball for their formulations, Kathleen became a lifelong admirer once she “fell in love with the colours.”
Patrick O’Donnell, Brand Ambassador, had a similar instant attraction to Farrow & Ball’s palette. “I’ve been using Farrow & Ball since 1993 when I bought my first house,” Patrick

recounts. “I saw this tiny palette of the most beautifully curated colors; I fell under the spell and the romance.” The romance he is referring to is Farrow & Ball’s “first colour palette of 50 colours, taken from these beautiful historic homes throughout the UK.” While the company celebrates its 80th anniversary in 2026, Farrow & Ball saw a major period of change in the 1990s while under the direction of Tom Helme, advisor on historic interiors, and Martin Ephson, corporate financier. Under their leadership, Farrow & Ball began to focus on historic restorations and colour palettes that remained true to their era.
While Farrow & Ball do not launch new colours every year, they did so this past February 2025 with 12 shades that are “very earthy, grounded, and feel cozier,” invoking and maintaining the idea of “home as a haven and a safe place.” However, customers will be delighted to find out that Farrow & Ball never “get rid of a colour,” according to Patrick. “We have faith in our colours’ integrity[...]at the moment, we consistently have 132 colours in our collection.

We introduced 12 and retired 12, and they go sit in our Archive palette,” Patrick explains. This means that beloved classics remain accessible, regardless of the year or new colours introduced. While original palettes are evergreen favorites among fans of the brand, Farrow & Ball is set to release a new interior finish, launching this September 25th. Flat Eggshell is “set to become a key offering in the brand’s range of interior finishes.” With just a 20% sheen, Flat Eggshell is Farrow & Ball’s flattest interior eggshell finish and designed for practicality in high-traffic areas. Quick drying, quick curing, and with a Class 1 scrub rating, Flat Eggshell is the perfect finish for detailing areas that see more use, from kitchen cabinets to baseboards.
Although Kathleen and Patrick guide their clients through paint colours in the Colour Consultancy service, they are also able to discuss and offer wallpapers as part of Farrow & Ball’s product line. When it comes to working with wallpaper, Kathleen and Patrick offer a few caveats. “You have

to think about the pattern working with other things in the room,” Kathleen states. “We need to treat it as one space so that everything works together.” Acknowledging that wallpaper is “a much bigger investment,” Patrick advises clients that “small prints are better than big prints” as they are “visually easier to live with over a long time.”
With Farrow & Ball’s luxury wallpaper line, you’d be hard-pressed to find a design that wouldn’t remain a beloved addition over the years. Handcrafted in Dorset using their own paint, Farrow & Ball’s technique of printing their paint on fully recyclable paper creates entirely unique designs that cannot be replicated anywhere else. One of the most exciting offerings since launching their wallpaper line in 1997 are The Purnon Papers. Released in May 2024, The Purnon Papers recreate five patterns found at Château de Purnon in France. These deeply romantic and ornate patterns are in good company amongst Farrow & Ball’s Archive Papers, historic designs that were reintroduced in 2024 from the brand archives. Whether looking at stripes, small-scale prints, or timeless patterns, Farrow & Ball’s artisanal wallpapers complement homes across the globe.
For Colour Consultants like Kathleen and Patrick, pointing their clients in the right direction of paint colour or wallpaper design is only skimming the surface of the benefits they provide. “It’s a full decorating service that we offer the client,” Kathleen shares. “It’s more than just paint; it’s about decorating and bringing the beautiful colors into the home.” Their deep understanding and knowledge of colour and design also enable Colour Consultants to “remain a resource, postconsultation,” for any Farrow & Ball client who utilizes this service. VUE readers are especially in luck, as Kathleen Brennan is available for in-home (or virtual) Colour Consultations in the tri-state area. In addition to New Jersey, Kathleen also services the Greenwich, Connecticut area as well as parts of New York City.

TUFFSKIN HAS BEEN PROTECTING NATURAL STONE FOR
OVER 18 YEARS.

Homeowners, interior designers, and architects can all attest to the beauty of natural stone–and the difficulties in maintaining it. “The average person, whether an architect, end user, or designer, have all been wired to avoid stone surfaces in design due to the difficulty in maintaining it,” explains Neil J. Wallin, Principal at Northeastern TuffSkin. Thankfully, the design–and stone–industry can experience a revival in the use of these stunning, luxe natural resources with the application of TuffSkin.
Founded in Las Vegas–and the only sealer approved by the Las Vegas hospitality industry–TuffSkin has been protecting natural stone for over 18 years. “We offer a solution to a problem that was inherent in using natural stone: acid staining and etching,” Neil shares. Any stone used in commercial buildings, the hospitality industry, or residential settings will normally see etching, staining, discoloration, and heat damage over time. But with TuffSkin, your stone, whether it be “marble, granite, quartz, travertine, or really any solid surface,” is guaranteed to remain protected.
While TuffSkin is available throughout the world, Northeastern TuffSkin operates crews across 16 states in the Northeastern United States. With a global network of dealers, the parent company supplies principals like Neil with the proprietary material, which they can then deliver and install for their customers.
What exactly, you might ask, are they bringing? Neil helps to break it down by explaining, “TuffSkin is a polyester substrate that is ingeniously designed to be gas-permeable, but liquid-impermiable.” As stone is organic in nature and thereby, porous, it needs to be able to “breathe” or it will dry out and decay. However, it is obviously vital that a natural stone surface, such as a kitchen countertop, also be impermeable to any liquid spills, acid etching from ingredients like lemon juice, and damage from hot pans. TuffSkin is the immediately available–and long-lasting–solution.
Whether a client is having TuffSkin installed on their new stone counters, or refinishing older stone that has sustained etch marks and then applying TuffSkin, the crystal clear results remain the same. With a 10-year-warranty in place for “any scenario that comes up,” TuffSkin also protects vertical surfaces, like a stovetop backsplash, for those oil-laden, delicious home-cooked meals that may cause an oil splatter. In commercial use, TuffSkin coverage can be expected to last between 3-5 years in very high usage areas, like a hotel, bar, casino, or cruise ship.

TUFFSKIN HAS CHANGED THE GAME.

Interestingly, while TuffSkin could be a considered vital addition in a luxe residential redesign, Neil says that “prior to COVID, we rarely did residential[...]COVID was our pivot.” With everyone spending substantial amounts of time at home, Neil saw the demand for TuffSkin rapidly increase, and it hasn’t slowed down.
“In the luxury markets of the world, there are many challenges that come along with buying luxury items,” explains Neil. “With TuffSkin, a person can pick a semi-prescious stone that they would have previously been thought to be insane for considering; TuffSkin allows them to proceed with using the stone they’ve always dreamed of.” For those in the stone industry, TuffSkin has changed the game by “allowing people to purchase stone” after “many people were resigned to ordering man-made surfaces to avoid the maintenance issue.” This led to difficulty moving natural stone inventory, but the application of TuffSkin to luxury stone surfaces “creates allowance for people to comfortably select the stone they love.”
TuffSkin is available in two finishes: Satin and Gloss, “just as stone also has those finishes available.” The benefit of the finishes is a “nice added feature” that allows homeowners to transform their already installed stone. The ability to apply a high-shine gloss to a matte stone and really make it shine, or vice versa, provides TuffSkin customers with a range of design options. Of course, “the formulation of it allows us to be able to remove it and the stone remains pristine as it was when we covered it,” says Neil.
When it comes to installation, TuffSkin dealers and technicians make all the difference. Certified, factory-trained technicians professionally install and service TuffSkin for clients, protecting your environment with face, hand, and feet coverings. And while Neil references the “copycat products” that are out there on the market, he stresses the importance of educating others on how these significantly “inferior to TuffSkin” products cause damage to the original stone underneath. With TuffSkin, the original stone will always remain in pristine condition.
With projects that span Gurney’s Montauk Resort, the Essex House, hotels and casinos throughout Atlantic City and Connecticut, and the private homes of some of the RHoNJ stars, Tuffskin is well-equipped, experienced, and knowledgeable to handle your next stone installation project

BEYOND BOURBON STREET
The crescent city is well known for its rich multi-cultural history, endless supply of festivities, and reputation as the birthplace of jazz. Visitors often make a beeline to the French Quarter; however, there’s plenty of magic to be found off the beaten path.
BY ROSY ALVAREZ

For over 300 years, the city of New Orleans has been recognized as a melting pot for Spanish, Irish, French, African, Caribbean, and Indigenous citizens. The city is best known for famed events that reflect its diverse DNA such as Mardi Gras, the French Quarter fest, and the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. The allure of staying in the historical French Quarter with a picturesque balcony enchants visitors from all over the world. Yet a mere walking distance from the French Quarter, lies the central business district where visitors will find quieter streets, quaint restaurants, and remnants of antiquated New Orleans. One of those portals to the past can be experienced at Copper Vine Wine Pub & Inn. What began as a restaurant has since expanded into a newly renovated boutique inn featuring 11 guest rooms, private guest dining areas, and rooms brimming with luxe modern amenities in one of the few remaining historically landmarked buildings in the CBD.
The three-story building features an elevator, which is rare to find in older buildings throughout the city. Upon entering the king guest suite, visitors are greeted with 13-foot ceilings and large windows which flood the room in natural light. Apart from the incredibly comfortable king bed and chic bedroom design lies the bathroom, which features a large backlit mirror, perfect for makeup application, a deep soaking tub coupled with bath salts, and separate marble-clad shower.
Copper Vine Wine Pub & Inn embodies modern elegance, and the addition of warm wooden furniture and leather accents throughout the suite create an atmosphere of sophisticated comfort. Each room includes a large open wardrobe unit, en-suite amenities such as mini bar, coffee machine, and mini-fridge, and soft-to-the-touch cotton Parachute robes. One of the most unique features of the inn is the specialized WhatsApp chat service where guests can connect with the delightful innkeeper and ask questions or request anything they might need throughout their stay.
Chef Amy Mehrtens is at the helm of Copper Vine Wine Pub & Inn’s popular restaurant and is a master at blending Caribbean, European, and Southern cuisine while stylistically presenting each dish in a fresh and contemporary way. The restaurant can accommodate a total capacity of 270 guests and features indoor and outdoor dining. Crowd favorites include the gulf shrimp risotto, which incorporates an unexpected burst of freshness through the inclusion of mint and savory lemon whip. The corn and crawfish bisque is a comforting menu spotlight as it blends the sweet and smoky flavors of grilled corn with the savory saltiness of crawfish to create a memorable taste with every bite.

THERE'S NO BETTER WAY TO EXPERIENCE
THE
CITY THAN WITH A
LOCAL.
While New Orleans has more history than any one person can learn in a single week, there are plenty of ways to experience some of the city’s famed, historical, and sometimes haunted sites. St. Louis Cemetery No.1 was established in 1789 and is the oldest cemetery in New Orleans. The only way to enter is through a scheduled tour and local tour guides wind groups in and out of narrow paths, detailing the towering mausoleums, introducing visitors to famed residents, and describing the unique burial practices of the time. Burials were directly linked to wealth; there are many different types of graves from the city’s humblest residents to group society plots to ornate private family mausoleums. Visitors with “Cage rage” will be pleased to find actor Nicolas Cage’s unique pyramid shaped mausoleum in the heart of the cemetery.
There’s no better way to experience the city than with a local. The Doctor Gumbo and Two Chicks Walking Tours are two of the most highly rated walking tours in the city. The former is recommended for visitors who want to eat and drink their way through the French Quarter. Tour guides are extensively knowledgeable on New Orleans history. While savoring a delicious alligator sausage gumbo, jambalaya, and signature hurricane cocktail at Red Fish Grill, guides explain the history of each dish, the languages and inspiration for the naming of each dish, and the history of several framed buildings. Stops on the tour include the Napoleon House, Antoine’s (one of the city’s oldest and still family run restaurants), and Cane and Table, which is located on the back section of the Old Ursuline Convent Museum and is an establishment well-known for paranormal activity and craft cocktails.
Pop culture and literary aficionados will enjoy an enlightening excursion into one of New Orleans most architecturally preserved neighborhoods with Two Chicks Garden District Walking Tour. What was once the land of a single plantation is now one of the most beloved and preserved neighborhoods in the country. Tour guides have an encyclopedic repertoire of the area’s history, famed residents, architectural details, and TV and film locations. The Garden District is also home to award-winning restaurants, shopping, thrifting, flea markets, and art experiences that stretch from the CBD to Audubon Park along the famed Magazine Street.
It is incredibly difficult to find a bad meal in New Orleans, but a fan favorite dining experience includes dinner at Tableau, located in one of the historic 1789 apartment buildings that surround Jackson Square. Tableau is run by the Brennan family, one of the city’s oldest families with over 100 years of hospitality experience. Established in 2013, the restaurant is best known for its tangy and decadent French 76, another of the city’s signature drinks. The menu incorporates elements of old world dining and cultural inventiveness. The pork schnitzel dish blends a traditional German meal with a flavorful and inventive creamy creole sauce. The star of the desert menu is the Tarte à la Bouillie, composed of a light and airy Cajun sweet dough and caramel rum sauce. Elevate the experience even further by reserving a table al fresco on the restaurant’s old-world balcony.

MUSIC & NIGHTLIFE ARE THE HEARTBEAT OF CREOLE CULTURE.
New Orleans is known for many things, but music and nightlife are the heartbeat of Creole culture. The city hosts no shortage of talented musicians; as a matter of fact, learning to play an instrument is a requirement of the city’s early education system. Needless to say, one of the best occasions to visit the Crescent City is during one of their famed music festivals. The annual Jazz and Heritage Festival has been a New Orleans staple since it was first established in 1970. It has hosted legendary musicians, past and present, such as Louis Armstrong, Lenny Kravitz, Jon Batiste, Fats Domino, and so many more. Featuring multiple stages and tents that host a vast category of genres, the city’s music festivals are an all day affair that are always worth the experience and the food stands feature some of the best food you’ll find in the city.
There are plenty of other ways to get a fill of local music if a big festival crowd isn’t your scene. Nestled in the heart of the French Quarter, Preservation Hall was established in 1950 in a space that initially functioned as an art gallery and subsequently became one of the first venues in the United States to provide an integrated performance space for musicians. The hall hosts several ticketed performances every night and each performance includes history about the city, music culture, and instrumental skills that originated in the region. Finally, the Peacock Room is a bar and music venue within the Kimpton Hotel Fontenot that is popular with locals and hosts some of the city’s brightest emerging talent. Performers include local legends such as Robin Barnes who grace guests with their musical talents in a tropical luxe modern setting.

THE CRESCENT CITY IS INDULGENT, ROMANTIC & ADVENTUROUS.
Chef Samuel Peery curates a delicious, straight forward menu in this intimate and modern live music venue. Peery’s beef carpaccio is incredibly delicate and flavorful, while the shrimp and grits live up to its southern expectations. Similarly, there’s not a single cocktail at the Peacock Room that disappoints. Featuring whimsical names such as El Pavo Real and The Jade Dragon and flavorful, inventive ingredients like pomegranate, hibiscus flower, ancho chili, mint, jalapeños, and lime, every cocktail is chemically paired to perfection and dance on the tongue.
New Orleans has immense magic, charm, adventure, and history that can’t be described in a single page. Whether it be a solo trip or a group trip, the city’s vibrancy and the warmth of locals make it easy to greet new friends and stumble onto memorable experiences. The Crescent City is indulgent, romantic, and adventurous, and there’s much excitement to be found both within–but especially beyond the French Quarter–if you open your mind and your palate.

MOST IN FLU ENTIAL WOMEN IN BUSINESS
WHITE OPAL
BY FRANKIE WYNNEWOOD
Business booming, baby on the way, and still serving looks — Cass DeRosa is the definition of doing it all.

She’s building a beauty empire, raising babies, and running the show—Cass DeRosa does it all (and makes it look easy).
As the boss babe behind White Opal Salon, Cass went from stylist to salon owner, proving that hustle, heart, and a killer blowout can take you far. Engaged, expecting, and absolutely thriving—she’s here to spill how she built her dream while juggling real life in all its messy, magical glory.

The messy, the good, and the in-between...

Q: What inspired you to launch White Opal Salon, and how did you turn it into one of the most talked-about beauty destinations on social media?
A: The inspiration to open White Opal came from wanting to create an experience for my clients that didn't yet exist, at least where we live–at the Jersey Shore. I wanted to create a place where the best hair, skin services, and coffee all exist in one world. A place where clients leave dreaming about their next visit. I personally love creating content and sharing with the world what im building. I’ve always loved just sharing things that are meaningful and beautiful to me, sharing my talented staff, over sharing—the messy, the good, and the inbetween of owning a business. People love real and raw and they love to feel connected to a brand even if they’ve never been able to experience it!
Q: White Opal has built a huge following on Instagram and TikTok. How do you approach content and communitybuilding online?
A: I'm open, honest and real. People love this and believe it or not some people do not. I pay close attention to what is working as far as building a loyal following but more importantly what is driving traffic into the door. It’s really as simple as just sharing with the world who we are, how we do things, how we operate, and our day-to-day experiences as hairstylists. We share exactly who we are, unfiltered and it's worked.

Q: You recently opened a matcha and coffee bar inside White Opal — what inspired that addition, and how has it changed the salon experience?
A: This has always been the original dream. 8 years ago when the idea originated we designed it this way but quickly realized I was dreaming too big, I didn't have enough money. 3 years into being in business, the space next door was still available so we took a leap. Our clients LOVE the coffee bar. As a health and ingredient freak I wanted to be able to have a high quality drink option available while clients are sitting there for hours getting beautified. We’ve had nothing but the best feedback about our coffee and wellness drinks on our menu and are so happy its added so much value to the client experience.

Q: With visibility comes criticism—how do you handle haters and negativity while staying focused on your vision?
A: I don't even have the time to pay attention to it. Focusing on the negative things just takes away from the positive things I could be doing to help grow my team, business and family. I’ve found that the people who get offended by the things that I post and videos I make are clients who just dont align with White Opal. I am not for everyone, and thats okay.

Q: You just got engaged and have a growing family with a toddler and another little one on the way—how do you balance motherhood and entrepreneurship?
A: Its the hardest thing I've ever done. Because my team is so strong and I feel so confident in them and their ability to keep the culture of the salon how it's intended to be when I'm not in the building it makes it so much easier. Joey is also my rock. As a retired veteran- I have the luxury of having his full-time help with growing the business and prioritizing the needs of our family. We pass Stone back and forth like a hot potato depending on what needs to get done for the day. Some days are lowkey and peaceful, other days are filled with absolute small business life chaos. Having the support from all ends is the most important thing. I could not do this alone.
Q: What’s been one of the biggest lessons you’ve learned as a female entrepreneur in the beauty industry?
A: The saying “its lonely at the top” is true. I never thought it was. People see you doing well and like you mentioned before, the comments and the negativity begin to strike. People show their true colors and unfortunately, friendships are lost at times because your values no longer align. The lesson for me is that family is everything.
Q: What do you think sets White Opal apart from other salons, and how do you keep pushing boundaries?
A: My expectation for how the client should feel from the second they walk in the door until the second they leave and how their hair should look is very high. My staff knows this. I will never lower our standards. We have continued education but most importantly, myself and the stylists are all constantly pushing themselves to be better and everyone around follows suit. That's what makes an unstoppable team. No one is complacent.

The lesson for me is that family is everything.
Q: Who or what inspires you the most when it comes to leadership and growing your team?
A: Honestly, Joey and I inspire eachother to want to be the best. The White Opal idea originated when we first started dating. It was actually his idea for me to open the salon, he saw a natural leader in me that I didn't see in myself at the time. He was a paratrooper in the military and has leadership experience that most of us can never relate to. I've been able to pick up on some of his skills and implement them into the business where needed. We both have a love and passion for helping young women/men in this industry and watching them make it a successful career. Our dream was to be the best salon in monmouth county, in all of NJ if possible—and we will do whatever it takes to live up to our
We just keep it moving.
RAPID FIRE | DRAMA & SASS EDITION
Q: Mascara or bold lip — which one is your ultimate power move?
A: Bold lip everytime.
Q: If White Opal was a reality show, what would the craziest behind-the-scenes moment be?
A: Based on past events it would have been when I had 8 employees leave at the same time. That episode would have definitely been the most dramatic. In fact when it was happening in real time it did cross my mind that this is reality show type of shit lol.
Q: Coffee, wine, or champagne — which fuels your hustle (and which one’s your guilty pleasure)?
A: Coffee through and through. If i had to pick a cocktail on the once a year occasion that I drink, it’d be a simple tequila/club.
Q: What’s the most outrageous hairstyle request you’ve ever gotten — did you say yes or no?
A: I’ve had a bride request some giant big bun that lived outside of my personal style preference and comfort zone. I declined her as a client knowing someone else could execute her vision much better than me.
Q: Haters gonna hate — what’s your fiercest clapback or secret weapon for shutting them down?
A: We just keep it moving. We laugh off the crazies and honestly we have a ton of haters but we don’t even know their names.
Q: Mom mode activated — what’s your go-to “save me now” move when chaos hits?
A: I immediately tell myself “this isn’t forever, it’s just a moment in time” when i’m feeling overwhelmed or super stressed. I count my blessings and I try to be very present and mindful if the situation is even worth reacting to. Having kids tests your patience to the max. I’m still taking all the tips and advice from other moms so send them my way!!!

AVAIA NUTRITION
The Protein-Packed Punch of Pichia
BY KRISTIN ACCORSI

What if your daily protein shake did more than just build muscle? Enter Avaia, a revolutionary new nutritional supplement born from biotech innovation and powered by Pichia Protein+™—a gut-healthy, inflammation-fighting, fat busting skinloving superblend. Created by Arbela Labs as a sustainable solution to our broken food system, Avaia isn’t just cleaner protein—it’s next-gen wellness in a scoop. Say goodbye to basic powders and hello to a smarter way to nourish your body.

Michael Locascio initially conceived his company, Arbela Labs, as a "sustainability play.” Well-aware of the health and resource crises facing our current global food system, Locascio and his team “were looking at ways of making protein without food and water and fertilizer,” he recounts–all deleterious aspects of producing protein at present demands. “There’s a lot of pesticides, fertilizers[...]there’s huge water issues, big issues with biodiversity, a lot of deforestation,” explains Mike. In response to these concerns, Arbela Labs set out to find ways of making protein without the need for the aforementioned inputs–and stumbled upon Pichia yeast. After “many years of research and development looking at how to quickly grow this yeast, and how to grow it at low cost,” Mike shares, “we came up with our core technology using Pichia, coupled with some very interesting bioprocessing technology.” Thus, Avaia was born.
Avaia, using a first-of-its-kind formula called Pichia Protein+™, is more than an exceptional protein powder. “As we were progressing, we found that it was very rich in protein, had all the amino acids, but we looked a bit further and found that it was also quite rich in fiber and something called beta-glucan,” Mike explains. “They’re really, in addition to the protein, very healthy for your gut, really good for your microbiota[...]it reduces systemic inflammation, reduces blood pressure, blood glucose level, cholesterol, good for losing weight, good for your skin–it’s really just good for a lot of things.”

While the Pichia protein comprises about 80% of the proprietary formulation, the remaining 20% is chock-full of good-foryou, all-natural ingredients. A specialized fruit blend (think strawberries, blueberries, bilberries, cranberries, and pomegranates), minerals, antioxidants, and greens round out this powerhouse supplement.
What Avaia does not contain is equally as important. Free from soy, seed oils, dairy, gluten, and GMOs,
Avaia is naturally vegan and ideally formulated for whole-body wellness. With obesity, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes skyrocketing around the world, Mike notes that “a lot of autoimmune diseases are skyrocketing at the same time[...]and more and more, this is being traced to diet.” Because Avaia is made from Pichia Protein+™, there is the “vegan protein, and the ‘plus’ is the fiber and beta-glucan, which is fantastic for your gut health, great for your cardiovascular system, reduces systemic inflammation, good for your skin, helps you lose weight,” Mike expounds.
And while it may seem like Avaia is the best new protein powder on the market, Mike “actually wouldn’t compare them,” he states. “I think of this more as a nutritional product with lots of vegan protein in it.” Traditional protein powders typically act as isolates, meaning whether it be whey, soy, or pea products, the protein is extracted from the source, thereby offering “just purified proteins that don’t actually have all the other good stuff in it.” In contrast, Avaia is “a protein product that has a lot of other nutritional benefits–the fiber, the beta-glucan, the greens, and the fruit blends that bring all-around nutritional quality to our product,” says Mike. Despite being superior to a standard protein powder found on the shelves, this protein-packed nutritional powerhouse can be added to smoothies and recipes the same way you would add protein powder. Mike shares that his favorite way to enjoy Avaia is in his daily

morning smoothie, made up of a scoop or two of Avaia, “Greek yogurt, and some fruit in it.” However, he stresses that a scoop or two of Avaia could really be added to anything–from a glass of water to being able to “bake with it if you want. There’s really nothing you can’t do with it.”
With such a breakthrough–and marketdisrupting–discovery with Avaia, Locascio is enthusiastic about “extending formulations within the Avaia brand.” While individuals of all genders can benefit from the daily addition of Avaia to their diet, Mike sees a real niche–and need–when it comes to women’s health. From postpartum to perimenopausal to menopausal, women’s bodies face differing needs in differing stages, and Avaia is uniquely poised to help with “a whole series of different formulations that we can make just for women.” Of course, with development in the works in an array of categories, Avaia’s forthcoming products have to be kept “secret for the time being.”
Amidst these incredible health benefits and its cutting-edge approach to producing high-quality protein at large scale and low cost, Arbela Labs is revolutionizing the industry—and changing lives along the way.
