2011 Live United Event 2010 Loaned Executives The Loaned Executive Program is an integral component of the annual United Way fundraising campaign and helps ensure its success each year. Chairman’s Award Bank of America The Chairman’s Award, selected by the Campaign Chairman, recognizes an organization that provides outstanding overall support for Valley of the Sun United Way. Criteria include overall campaign revenue, percent of revenue invested in the work of Valley of the Sun United Way and success in mobilizing employee volunteers.
Spirit Of Caring Award Vanguard The Spirit of Caring Award recognizes an organization for pushing the boundaries of community involvement for a considerable length of time. To be considered for this award, the company must demonstrate sustained support for health and human services, increased campaign results, increased support for the work of Valley of the Sun United Way and have promoted volunteerism, making a positive impact on the community.
Trailblazer Award Intel Corporation Valley of the Sun United Way is honored to present Intel Corporation and its employees with the Trailblazer Award. This award highlights Intel’s achievement in continuously raising the standard of community involvement and reaching new levels of philanthropic investment. In the last decade Intel and its employees have raised nearly $50M for our local community. Intel initiated the $3M, $4M, $5M, $6M and now $7M dollar clubs. 2011 Live United Event Community Impact Award Medtronic Microelectronics Center
The Community Impact Award recognizes an organization with a minimum of 75% of its total campaign revenue invested in the work of Valley of the Sun United Way. Additional requirements include a minimum of $100,000 in total campaign revenue and utilizing campaign best practices.
Sustaining Supporter Award Edward Jones Investments
The Sustaining Supporter Award recognizes an organization that provides consistent, long-term financial support to the Valley of the Sun United Way campaign. The organization’s campaign must have increased by an average of 10% for each of the last five years. Additional requirements include a minimum of $100,000 in campaign revenue and a minimum of 70% of its total campaign invested in supporting the work of Valley of the Sun United Way.
Tocqueville Campaign Excellence Award PetSmart, Inc.
The Tocqueville Campaign Excellence Award recognizes an organization achieving a high level of Tocqueville giving in both total number of Tocqueville members and total Tocqueville dollars. The organization must have at least 10 Tocqueville members and/or $100,000 in Tocqueville dollars.
Leadership Giving Award Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc.
The Leadership Giving Award recognizes an organization with outstanding Leadership Giving results including total number of Leadership Givers, total Leadership Giving dollars and increases over last year. In addition, total campaign revenue must reach $100,000 with 25% of employee campaign revenue from Leadership Giving.
Outstanding Partner Award Association for Supportive Child Care
The Outstanding Agency Award recognizes a local health and human service agency for their outstanding campaign performance. The agency must have a minimum of $10,000 in total campaign revenue with at least 70% of its total campaign supporting the work of Valley of the Sun United Way. 4

Speaker Appreciation Award Christina Calio, St. Mary’s Foodbank Alliance
The Speaker Appreciation Award recognizes an individual agency or client speaker in appreciation for their contributions to the annual campaign. The award is based on number of presentations, campaign account feedback and an ability to articulate the work of Valley of the Sun United Way.
Dynamic Partnership Award Arizona Diamondbacks & Helios Education Foundation
This year the Dynamic Partnership Award recognizes two organizations that partnered to provide $100,000 toward our work in Ensuring Children and Youth Succeed through the “Shirts off our D-backs” fundraising event.
In-Kind Giving Award US Airways
The In-Kind Giving Award recognizes an organization whose gift of non-financial resources aids Valley of the Sun United Way in achieving its goals for the community.
Innovative Campaign Partnership Award U.S. Bank
The Innovative Campaign Partnership Award recognizes an organization that has formed an innovative campaign-related partnership helping to increase overall campaign results and create community impact.
