Christmas in Jacksonville was different than Alaska and it was more than it being seventy-two degrees rather than the twenty degrees currently in Anchorage. There was a different vibe. Ronnie spent the first Christmas with her dad Ronald which in and of itself made everything different but the food was a combination of traditional with the added deliciousness of a seafood pot as Ronald called it. What it was was a massive pot with blue crabs, potatoes, corn, sausage and Ronald&8217sspecial seasonings. They were joined by Pierre and a few people Ronald knew. Ronnie couldn&8217tremember a better Christmas in her life. The early morning visit with her mother Edwardia, whose condition was the same didn&8217tdamper the joy. The fact she could see and be with her, even in Edwardia&8217snon-communicative state made her happy.
