Educational Session on “Meeting Roles & Responsibilities”

An Ice Breaker Speech Marathon with theme of Break the Barrier was (Clubthe Growth) conducted on 28th September 2021 and Another Speech Maraton with the theme of Sieze the day was conducted on 01st February 2022 at the area level in order to create more speech slots to the members of the Area B5. Event chair of the events were TM Niluka Dissanayake & TM Chamila Gamage respectively.

Message from Area Director

We started our journey as the Family of Area B5 on 1st of July 2021 with BEPZ Toastmasters Club, CEB Toastmasters Club, Kadawatha Toastmasters Club and Kaduwela Toastmasters Club and with the theme of “Plan-Execute-Follow up”. In the month of September, we had Silver Line Toastmasters Club as our new member of the family. Now we are almost at the end of the tenure 2021/22 and as the Area Director, I’m really proud to announce that all our clubs achieved the “President Distinguished” status. Not only that, all five clubs under Area B5 were recognized at Ovation 2022 with club awards. That implies how they have performed during the tenure. As the Area B5, we were able to become President Distinguished Area, while achieving 100% pathways adoption and more than 8% payment growth.

All these achievements were become a reality because of every single member of the Area B5. At this very proud moment, I would like to convey my heartiest gratitude to Area Council Members of Area B5, President & Executive Committee Members and all the members of BEPZ Toastmasters Club, CEB Toastmasters Club, Kadawatha Toastmasters Club, Kaduwela Toastmasters Club and Silver Line Toastmasters Club, Division Director of Division B, DTM Jeewana Pradeep & Division Council Members, District Trio & District Council Members of District 82 and All other Toastmasters who supported us to achieve these accomplishments.

Finally, I wish Good Luck & All the Best for all the Toastmasters in Area B5 for their future and while conveying my heartiest gratitude for everyone who helped us immensely throughout the tenure 2021/22.

Birth of Silver Line Toastmasters Club After a great effort, Club Growth Team of Area B5 headed by TM Asiri Wijesekara had found Homagama Area as potential area for a prospective club. With the guidance of DTM Shehara Dissanayake, 10 consecutive demo meetings were conducted and Silver Line Toastmasters Club was chartered on 14th September 2021 as the first new club of District 82 for the
