What to expect

This escorted golf tour has been specially designed to blend a unique experience at The Open Championship with some of the very best golf courses in Scotland. This tour covers three of the most revered golf destinations within what is the birthplace of our magical sport.

This golf tour will not exceed 20 guests. You will leave knowing everyone on a first-name basis, and having played nine of Scotland’s best golf courses with everything arranged for you.

To top it off, a visit to The Open Championship at Royal Troon!

Why join this tour?

If you are considering attending The Open, the benefits of this tour are numerous. The best part is that your Open experience is guaranteed because Voyages.golf is your Authorised Provider – no need to worry about tickets and staying in Glasgow because this tour has a weeklong stay in the town of Ayr, right near Troon.

Other benefits include transportation by exclusive, private coaches, along with preferred tee-times at the best local courses during one of the busiest times of year. We play most rounds mid-morning so we can enjoy lunch after & still get time to explore our surrounds in the afternoons. The other main benefit is that we get to make lifelong friends by tying in a world-class golf event with a play-golf journey through the heart of Scotland.

Golf Pairings & Format

This escorted golf tour is about having fun with loved ones, or friends, old and new! Open to anyone, it is not a registered competition and there are no prerequisites to join. Nominal prizes will be awarded for daily winners (Stableford scoring), NTP’s, and overall winners. If you do not have a registered golf handicap, and haven’t had one for more than 12 months, we will automatically give you one according to the Rules of Golf (USGA/R&A). This handicap will be used for the duration of our golf tour, plus or minus any alterations affected by high or low scores.

You may join the tour as either a golfer or non-golfer, but you cannot join the tour as a non-golfer & select rounds to play; in other words, you need to commit to the tour as either a golfer or non-golfer. The aspect of playing golf while discovering a new country is a central part to this exercise, but it is also about meeting new people, playing golf with likeminded others, and of course making lifelong memories. We firmly believe that by combining a regular escorted golf tour with event experiences at The Open, our sense of camaraderie will be further enhanced by the end and new memories will be forged.

Daily golf pairings will be announced each morning and will be based on a mix of: Partners & friends, Random, mixed genders and names out of a hat. If you have any specific requests, please let us know at time of booking.
