

Chocolate Chip Cookies
A favorite of Brenda’s adapted from Alton Brown’s Chips for Sister Marsha Good Eats Season 3, Episode 3 show.
Ingredients
2 sticks unsalted butter
1 large egg
¼ cup whole milk
1½ teaspoon vanilla extract
2¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup granulated sugar
½ cup brown sugar
1½ cups dark chocolate chips
Instructions
Remove 2 sticks of butter from the refrigerator. In a bowl, combine the egg, milk, and vanilla Allow both the butter and egg mixture to sit for an hour
Heat oven to 375 degrees
In a mixing bowl, sift together the flour, salt, and baking soda.
In a stand mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Slowly add the egg mixture until well combined Slowly add the flour mixture until combined
Stir in the chocolate chips
Place six tablespoon-sized scoops of cookie dough on a parchment-lined sheet pan. Bake for 13 (high altitude) to 15 minutes on top rack

Scoop the remaining cookie dough into little squares of plastic wrap or fold-top sandwich bags. Place in a freezer-safe resealable bag. Bake from frozen when you need a sweet treat.
