The company von der Thannen is based in Vorarlberg, Austria
Crafts have a special status in the Bregenzerwald and were a welcome employer for the predominantly agricultural regions. The so-called stickferggers were responsible for delivering the goods and collecting and delivering them to the exporter in Switzerland. Only the highest quality was accepted. Embroidery spread very quickly in Vorarlberg. The contract orders from Switzerland acquired a high economic importance, especially for the mountain regions of the Bregenzerwald. Emperor Franz I confirmed the privilege of embroidery finishing trade in 1818. The cotton fabric and embroidery thread could be imported duty-free.
Like their ancestors, the company “von der Thannen” set itself the goal of offering its customers the highest quality in the form of bedding and accessories with their own creative designs. In 2025 we present a new collection of natural floral prints inspired by hand-painted watercolors and soft pastels. The collection includes only the finest fabrics in sustainable quality. Playful, but with attention to detail. Look at new products in 100% silk quality. The goods are packed in elegant boxes to avoid plastic and do something good for the environment.
