After spending several years at one of the world’s top ranked brand valuation and corporate identity firms, Sean founded Voicebox in 2002. During his tenure, he formed an advisory board and built key relationships, which increased his firm’s intellectual capital in brand identity development.

Jacques has 25 years of design and brand building experience. He is responsible for managing the firm’s strategic design initiatives and mentoring and growing the creative team.

Mike’s career spans 40+ years in executive management roles at prestigious Wine and Spirits companies. Most notable among them is Artesa Winery, Gallo Sonoma, Sterling Vineyards and Chateau St. Jean. His experience allows a keen sense of awareness and ability to elevate brand visibility in an impactful way.

Our history

2004-2005 Voicebox is selected to redesign Beringer’s portfolio of wines, ranging from each price point and appellation to the pinnacle of its offerings, the award-winning Private Reserve.

2003

2007-2012

Foster’s Wine Estates becomes a client; we work with legendary wine grower Robert Steinhauer to create a California Central Coast premium brand named after Robert himself, TAZ.

Our clientele expands to include top 100 wineries and brands including Diageo, E&J Gallo Winery, Don Sebastiani & Sons, and Jackson Family Wines.

2006

Voicebox is chosen by Clover Stornetta Farms as the new agency to redesign its entire portfolio of consumer products, starting with the organics line.

2016

Clover Sonoma grows from 40 million to over 200 million in sales with Voicebox as its partner design agency of record.

2017-2022

2013

Our CPG clientele expands to include multiple product categories, ranging from frozen meals to nutritional supplements and plant based protein.

PepsiCo awards Voicebox with the redesign of its Emerging Juice Brands portfolio, beginning with the iconic Naked Juice. Later, other brands will include IZZE Sparkling Sodas, Tropicana innovations, and KeVita Probiotic Drink.

2017

Voicebox sets-up a brand incubator for innovative and entrepreneurial projects, helping launch concepts like Piledriver for Ebiba Brands and Fruit Friends Snacks for Charles & Alice a French based manufacturer of healthy fruit.

Case studies

Michael David Winery had long been producing America’s favorite red zinfandel, 7 Deadly Zins, when they partnered with Voicebox to redesign the brand. The retail packaging needed updating in order to reach a new audience and expand its offerings. Voicebox also created an advertising campaign in print, outdoor & digital, specifically targeting a new breed of younger wine consumers that were entering the category for the first time. The results lead to significant growth in year over year case sales as well as expansion on shelf through the packaging of a new red blend.

The Seven Deadly Zins

Obsidian Wine Co. planted their vineyard in 1999 amid red volcanic soils shot with black obsidian, and among abandoned walnut trees, overlooking a dormant volcano in Red Hills Lake County. Today, they farm both the highest and lowest elevations of the Mayacamas Range and cooper their own barrels from the Oak forest of Tokaj, Hungary. Voicebox worked with Obsidian Wine Co. to reposition the brand and invite new consumers to experience this next great frontier in California winemaking. We redesigned the brand packaging, print collateral, and website and supported the launch of several new product innovations including Pezsg�o, Máslás and a Pear Cider/Sauvignon Blanc blend.

THE NEXT GREAT FRONTIER IN CALIFORNIA WINEMAKING

Rhythm Sparkling Hemp Beverages launched in 2020 as a functional wellness brand that crafts and sells the best-tasting, ready-to-drink beverages infused with adaptogens, superfoods and U.S. grown hemp extract. Rhythm approached Voicebox to create a more iconic and memorable presentation for the brand identity and packaging. We minimized the brand's reliance on flavor an shifted the focus to a range of functional consumer need states. The results have been extremely well received and Rhythm is currently sold in over 200 retail locations across 20 states and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
