JAMIE BRYAN KIMANI

Born on 11 March 1997, Jamie realised while very young, that he was talented in art and design, so he spent hours drawing girls and dressing them up. Most of his designs at that age were inspired by bratz/wind cartoon characters.

Today, Jamie is at the centre of a cultural explosion as one of East Africa's most prolific trend-setters, giving a creative voice to the region through his modelling and his talent in make-up and fashion design.

With a Styling portfolio that boasts several Managing Directors and CEOs, Celebrities such as Sauti Sol and Karen Lucas (for her TedTalk) and even Cabinet Ministers during key media appearances, Jamie has proven himself to be an astute thought leader and entrepreneur in the lifestyle and fashion industry.

In high school, I would customise my uniforms (making them skinny) and stencil print my shirts using the popular shoe polish "kiwi" which quickly became a popular that earned a steady stream of clients especially during inter-school competitions "funkies”

UNIKUTELLE BLESSING

- NIGERIA

Unikutelle Blessing Mato established her eponymous brand in 2008. She is a Nigerian fashion designer, couturiere and art director, native of a small town called Jengre in Plateau State but was born and raised in Kaduna State Nigeria. She bagged a first degree in International studies Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in 2005,during which she discovered what she calls “a burning desire for fashion and all things design”, the drive to know how to bring these ideas in her mind to life, understand the dynamics of a well-tailored garment and understand at that time why within her immediate community it was always difficult to communicate ideas with the average neighbourhood tailor/seamstress - this was puzzling as they would always describe her requests/ideas as "complicated" or "impossible to realise", this passion drove her in the direction of pursuing her dreams.

In 2001 she started learning the intricate art of hand sewing and would always enrol as an apprentice during the holidays until she had the opportunity to move from Kaduna to Lagos for a workshop in pattern making. She continued afterwards to develop this skill through self-training for about a year started work at Xclamations by Tomi Rotimi before she officially launched the Unikutelle brand in 2010 which became rapidly known for its impeccably tailored dresses across Nigeria and serving quite a number of clients in the UK and the USA.

In 2014 She moved to Milan Italy to study a certificate in fashion design, diploma in women's wear fashion design and a masters in art direction for fashion design and haute couture Istituto di moda burgo and HFFA respectively. She has interned at Milan Fashion Week with designers such as Stella Jean.Since return to Nigeria,She has been involved in major Fashion,Arts history and culture and Charity projects, partnerships and collaborations with other organisations, notably to mention;A tribute to the warrior queen Amina of Zaria in partnership with the fifth chukker equestrian academy and the Zaria Emirates, Canceraware, the Kere Ahmed foundation, RADI. e 2020 pandemic inspired and presented an opportunity to collaborate with ISIS MODELS AFRICA beyond the borders of Nigeria making facemasks for a large number of models at the UNHCR Kakuma refugee camp Kenya which was established in 1992 to host unaccompanied minors who had fled the war in Sudan and camps in Ethiopia. She has just launched her Ready To Wear line after 14 years of serving only in couture

QEMER+

- ETHIOPIA

Born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, we were great friends since 7th grade in Nazareth School. We always talked and dreamt about fashion and owning a business someday. We found ourselves having lunch and still talking about our clothing line—only this time, we decided to make it a reality. In making quality products that promote the rich African culture by using African materials, we make sure that they are Fair Trade, handpicked, welldesigned, and our absolute favorite, Limited Edition. at was our first product. e ones we had in stock sold out in just a few weeks. It helped us see that there is a need for more of our products. at seeped into our attires. Our first collaboration was with Alexander Umudozi, a Rwandan fashion designer. It was a successful collaboration. Like our decorative pillows, these sold out in weeks, as well. Qemer+ was born out of this collaboration. We are constantly looking for the next artist or designer from Africa. rough Qemer+ we are constantly looking to bring one bit of Sun to Africa. It is a platform for collaborating with a variety of African artists and designers who align with our beliefs.

Muti Award winner, Prince Samuel Okafor Anwuzia is the founder CEO of Nollywood Entertainment Ltd, UK and has maintained the energy to promote African Arts and Culture. He believes so much that African stories can only be told better by Africans. Hollywood has ran out of stories but Africans can never run out of stories. ZAFAA Global Awards has always collaborated withe British Film Institute (BFI) to give Master class workshop to filmmakers. My role in ZAFAA is to take African films to the global market especially the Nollywood Industry, Nollywood Movies will not be known in Africa or Nigeria alone without it being exported, bringing it to the center of economy - the UK is one BIG THING for NOLLYWOOD as you know, that has become the second and the third largest production company in the world. ZAFAA with the collaboration of BFI,African film will be standardised and it will grow very big and that is why ZAFAA Global Awards has been in the front-line of promoting African Films.. To Add to his quest in promoting African Films he has now opened a venue. e New Nollywood Entertainment Studios a studio in the heart of Greenwich.South East of London.is year in London he has added a new Appreciation Award to appreciate Africans who ar e doing everything possible to be part of the industry.
