ACH comic relief

Samir Patel, CEO of Comic Relief, said: “It’s fantastic that through our new Change Makers programme we are able to support 20 ‘game changing’ projects that are working with thousands of vulnerable people and families throughout the UK. Each project aims to provide vital long-term support and make a real positive impact on communities hardest hit by the pandemic.”

ACH and RAMP, facilitated by Comic Relief, believe that by pioneering an approach that brings together policy and practice at a regional level, they can create an evidence led framework for change that puts the individual at the centre of policy design. Creating lasting impact for the future. Richard Thickpenny, Chief Innovation Officer at ACH, said: “Too often the voice of change can go unheard even though such changes could drastically improve people’s lives. Our Changemakers funding provides an opportunity to bring current best practice to local, regional, and national attention. It will bring together our own leading research with the best across the UK and will be supported through our partnership with RAMP to ensure the message of change is widely heard.”

UPDATE

The cover of the book "Weaving"

Flourishing in St Pauls is the name of the gardening project which is embellishing so many corners of our neighbourhood. But 2021 has allowed us to be so creative in many different ways. Moving Words is a dance group involving women over 50 exploring how our life experiences can be put into words and turned into dance. Memoir is an international creative writing group that thrusts us on flights of discovery of our own lives, all illuminated by a sense of healing and deep understanding. We have had online cookery classes, arts and crafts and our world- renowned Open Mic Night (the last Thursday of most months). Tonight's session celebrated the launch of Weaving, poems by black women from St Pauls and beyond and dedicated to Batenga Nassolo Kyeyune, RIP. Photos from the Flourishing in St. Pauls Project
