Amelia Tang (Sarocharat Tosrisawatkasem)

Amelia Tang, a passionate artiste and educator in the performing arts, has dedicated herself to continuous learning and growth. As a student trained by Ms. Khor Ai Ming for 12 years, she has diligently refined her skills. Currently, Amelia serves as one of the vocal teachers at Ms Khor’s Studio and provides private vocal training to private students, where she imparts her expertise to aspiring performers.

Amelia's stage experience spans both local and international platforms, showcasing her exceptional talents. Notable performances include her portrayal of 'Jacky,' the hare in the critically acclaimed production "Faybulous" at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, as 'Sandman' in "Hansel & Gretel", as ‘Dorcas’ in Arne’s Thomas and Sally, and 'Pamina' in "The Magic Flute" at the prestigious Esplanade Recital Studio. Her artistry extends beyond theatrical productions, as Amelia has participated in several Chingay Parades, both as one of the soloists and as a choral member, including the celebrated Singapore’s National Jubilee Celebration.

Amelia took the lead in assembling a singing group for some very special occasions. They were tasked with performing the Thai Royal Anthem at the Thai King’s Day, organized by the Thai Association in Singapore. Additionally, they were chosen to perform in front of esteemed ambassadors, ministers, diplomats, business entrepreneurs, and honored guests during the Thai King’s Day celebrations in 2022 and 2023, hosted by the Thai Embassy in Singapore, and at The ASEAN Gala Night hosted by Indonesia’s Chairmanship in ASEAN and on behalf of the Representative of the ASEAN Member States in Singapore, where she led the group to sing the ASEAN Anthem.

In her younger days, Amelia has made her mark in various competitive arenas. As a finalist in pop singing competitions, she has consistently showcased her versatility. Furthermore, Amelia has demonstrated her linguistic talents by excelling in Thai speech competitions held in Thailand. She has also had the honour of performing in front of esteemed dignitaries, such as the Emperor and Empress of Japan and Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

Amelia attained Distinction in Trinity College London's Advanced Performance Certificate. Currently, she is pursuing a Licentiate of Trinity College London (LTCL) Diploma. Her commitment to her students is evident through their outstanding achievements, with many routinely receiving Merits and Distinctions in the Trinity College London and ABRSM singing examinations.

As a testament to her love for choral music, Amelia is a member of Vocal Associates, a renowned choral group that performs bi-annually at the prestigious Esplanade Concert Hall. She sang either as a soloist or part of the choir.

Amelia believes in the importance of lifelong learning and is driven by her passion to share her knowledge with the younger generation. Currently taking classes of Italian, French, Korean, and Chinese, she embraces cultural diversity and seeks to broaden her understanding of the world through language and communication.

Amelia is a volunteer and a member of the Thai Association in Singapore, where she contributes her time and efforts to community initiatives and events.

Bertrand Lee

Piano

Bertrand Lee studied with Albert Tiu at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music on a full scholarship. He has since performed with some of Singapore’s best musicians. As an accompanist, Bertrand has performed at Carnegie Hall with the top prize-winners of the American Protégé Competition. He has worked with the Singapore Lyric Opera, the School of the Arts, Singapore, and he has also accompanied the students of Yong Siew Toh and the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in competitions where they emerged as top prize-winners. He was featured with the Asian Contemporary Ensemble in an acclaimed performance of Schoenberg’s Pierrot Lunaire at the Esplanade.

Bertrand is the rehearsal pianist of the Vocal Associates Festival Chorus and the Joy Chorale. With them he has worked with several distinguished conductors on orchestral works with chorus, including Mahler’s Symphony No. 8, Alarcon’s Marco Polo Trilogy and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9.

Jacqueline Pereira Choreography

Formerly from the SAF Music and Drama Company, Jacqueline graduated from the London Studio Centre,majoring in Performing Arts.

Besides performing she teaches dance at schools and has choreographed numerous local productions and worked with many companies.Her theatre credits include Much to do Nothing, The Wind in the willow, Gingerbread Man,The Scrooge, Chingay parades and Broadway Beng. Her TV /movie credits: Forever Fever, Tiong Bahru Social Club, MeWatch My Coffee Shots and My grandma battery.

She has worked with Vocal Associates to choreograph various productions like The Little Prince, Eloise: An opera for Young People, The Magic Flute, A Baroque Love Story and the Songbirds series.

Thai Dance Society

The group of professional Thai Classical Dancers deeply devoted to preserving and promoting Thai culture, particularly through the art of Thai Classical Dance. Hailing from the “land of smiles,” they aim to cultivate a deeper understanding and appreciation of Thai cultural heritage through the performances. With a heritage rooted in the royal courts of Thailand, they bring to life an art form once exclusive to the royal elite.

Comprised of highly trained professionals, each dancer holds a degree in Thai Classical Dance from esteemed universities in Thailand. Their dedication to their craft ensures performances of the highest quality, maintaining the authenticity and beauty of Thai dance.

Over the years, the Thai Dance Society in Singapore, with the invaluable support of The Royal Thai Embassy, has graced numerous significant events with their mesmerizing performances. Through collaboration and encouragement, they continue to showcase the cultural richness of Thailand to audiences both locally and internationally.
