XR DESIGN FRAMEWORK

XR FRAMEWORK GOALS

- Create an XR infrastructure for iterative design testing of space hardware

- Define a standard evaluation system to implement design assumptions derived from the XR testing

- Define a multi/mission procedure testing framework based on highly immersive XR technologies

- Create a framework to grow new XR capabilities for the space sector

DEFINITION:

VIRTUAL / PHYSICAL SPACE

- DESIGN VALIDATION STANDARD

NASA DESIGN PROCESS | SEH rev.2

9

DESIGN PROCESS | CHALLENGES

- Iteration testing is often limited by resources

- Evaluation is subjective

- There is no evidence that connect Evaluation outcomes and design derived assumptions

- low iterability due to complexity

- Mockup testing comes after the design phase
