Vytautas Magnus University has earned the reputation of Artes Liberales University thanks to its unique system of liberal studies, openness to the world, dissemination of liberal thought and high quality of studies. The university differs from other Lithuanian educational institutions in its modern conception of studies, based on the model of Harvard University (the USA). It is unique in the sense that the priority is given not to narrow and highly specialised studies but to broad university education, which satisfies the needs of student’s personal development and contemporary society.
