VMSC Emergency Medical Services is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Education to lead our educational programs. This pivotal role requires a professional who is knowledgeable, organized, and committed to advancing EMS education. The ideal candidate will oversee the Education Department, ensuring the highest standards of training for our EMS personnel and managing internal training, course development, and program compliance.

THE JOB

The Director of Education at VMSC Emergency Medical Services will oversee the educational programs, ensuring the highest standards of training for our EMS personnel. This role requires a professional who is knowledgeable, organized, and committed to advancing EMS education. The Director will manage internal training and clinical oversight and function as the EMS Programs Director for EMT, EMT-Advanced, and Paramedic initial certification courses

Key responsibilities include coordinating the Paramedic Advisory Committee by organizing meetings and providing necessary data for review and approval. The Director will manage the budget, track expenditures, prepare reports for regulatory compliance, and participate in budget planning. They will create, update, and maintain the course catalog, develop annual course schedules, and ensure programmatic accreditation with CoAEMSP by maintaining compliance with accreditation standards.

Additionally, the Director will develop and update enrollment applications, maintain faculty files for professional development, and ensure institutional effectiveness through the collection and analysis of feedback The role demands overseeing faculty and staff payroll, handling student withdrawals and dismissals, conducting exit interviews, and managing student records.

This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to the professional development of our EMS staff. The Director will also engage with the local community, fostering relationships with civic groups and City officials to promote the importance of EMS education.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate will be a motivated and visionary leader with a deep understanding of EMS education and a commitment to the highest standards of training for our personnel. They will possess strong leadership skills, the ability to develop and update enrollment applications, maintain faculty files for professional development, and ensure institutional and programmatic effectiveness through the collection and analysis of feedback. This individual will have exceptional interpersonal skills, creating a collaborative and inclusive environment within the Education Department. The candidate will be a charismatic public figure, able to engage with the community, civic groups, and other stakeholders to assess and respond to their needs.

The Ideal Candidate Possesses:

Educational Leadership: Proven experience in leading EMS educational programs, with a strong understanding of EMS education and training standards

Organizational Skills: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple programs, budgets, and compliance requirements

Community Engagement: Ability to foster strong relationships with local civic groups, City officials, and the broader community

Accreditation Expertise: Experience in ensuring compliance with CoAEMSP and other accreditation standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Supervisory Experience: At least three (3) years of administrative, command, operational, and supervisory responsibility.

EMS Experience: Extensive experience in EMS education and training.

Licensure: Certification as a Paramedic in Pennsylvania (or ability to obtain within 6 months), Nationally Registered Paramedic, and completed an EMS instructor’s course approved by the Pennsylvania OEMS Department.

Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

An annual salary of $86,000 - $101,000 plus a generous benefits package that includes:
