OCCUPIED CAMPUSES

At WALTZ the most important part of what we do is keep your students, staff and visitors safe throughout the entire duration of the project. In addition, we believe disruptions should be very minimal in an educational setting.

1. NO INJURIES

2. NO DISRUPTIONS NO EXCUSES

Our approach and philosophy regarding working on an occupied campus with students and staff is very straight forward.

1. WE WILL STUDY AND MEMORIZE YOUR SCHOOLS SCHEDULE

(illustrated to the right)

2. WE WILL OVER COMMUNICATE to the District and School Principal to understand all activities and requirements for the campus

3. BE INVISIBLE, MAKE AN IMPACT

We will be as invisible to the campus, yet make an impact.

WALTZ has years of experience working on active campuses. We understand the importance of open communication, and comprehensive scheduling when working on a site with students and staff. We have identified a few key components for providing safe and smart working conditions on active sites.

Noise Control - Construction is far from being a quite process, we will work proactivly with the team and present a three-week look-ahead schedule at each team meeting to compare with the academic calendar, testing schedules, and other campus activities. This will allow us to identify the best time to the hour to perform louder activities, and schedule delivery times.

Identification - Identification is critical, we mandate all workers wear Identification and they are required to obtain and maintain a Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card before any work is initiated.

Separation

Barriers- We will implement barrier’s and establish signage and perimeter fencing around the work areas. Fire lane access will be maintained and accessible throughout the entire duration.

Disruption of UtilitiesDuring Pre-Construction

we will perform an in-depth investigation of the campus utilities. We must understand completely of all underground infrastructure, shut-off valves and disconnect breakers to eliminate unplanned outages.

SAFETY PLAN

Safety is WALTZ’s TOP priority.

The safety of your students, staff, community, our team and our trade partners is the most important part of any work we perform. We have implemented a Safety Management Program. This program exceeds the industry standards

Our team will create a site-specific safety plan for the William Field High School Weight Room Addition. Through our dedication to safety we have implemented a few items that best illustrates our commitment to Safety practices.

CHRIS WHEELER | Safety Director

Chris is responsible for the safety on every ongoing project. He ensures all policies and procedures are being followed. Chris will visit the William Field High School Weight Room Addition project weekly and implement safety meetings with key trade partners.

HOW CHRIS WILL KEEP YOUR SITE SAFE:

Over Communicate - Chris communicates safety through policies that are detailed in our Safety Manual and Mettings. These policies are continually updated to comply with changes in the law, and to highlight accident and hazards prevention. Our policies implemented exceed Arizona State and Federal, Safety, and Health Administration standards.

Training - We train EVERY employee including office staff, each of us undergo continuous safety training programs ensuring we are all aware of safe construction practices. In addition Chris assists our Trade Partners and identifies on-site safety meetings for the entire team.

Monitoring -

Project Manager

Kevin Bunn and Safety Director

Chris Wheeler will monitor safety by reviewing monthly inspections (monthly); and Daily reports (Daily).

Motivation - Project Superintendent will conduct a daily site safety assembly. This assembly communicates activities in the workforce so everyone is on the same page and understands daily safety hazards.

PROJECTS THAT HIT 100 DAYS OF SAFETY ARE PROVIDED LUNCH. We show our Trade partner, how much we appreciate their dedication to our clients.

LEAN CONSTRUCTION

In addition to Project Safety we will implement Lean Construction on the William Field High School Weight Room Addition project. Implementing these practice will improve the site cleanliness and add additional safety.
