On Wednesday June 20, the first day of VIV Europe 2018, Director General Marjolijn Sonnema of the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature & Food Quality opens the Kip van Oranje innovation platform at the show. The opening congress of Kip van Oranje under the theme “Gezond Boeren”, which translates to “Healthy Farming” connects the strenghts of the Dutch Poultry sector. The Kip van Oranje innovation platform focuses on chain cooperation and the development of new chain structures in which the poultry farmer takes control and shares knowledge with suppliers and buyers. The cooperation between Kip van Oranje and VIV Europe 2018 brings together poultry farmers, knowledge, technology and best practices at the most prominent international trade show in the sector.

VIV EUROPE GRAND OPENING CONFERENCE
The Innovation Gallery in hall 9 is all about smart poultry production. One of the 30 participants in de Innovation Gallery is Huvepharma, with the Aviapp Platform. The Aviapp Platform has been designed to help broiler veterinarians and production people to combine all health data in to one easy to use program. Easy data entry wherever the farmer is, transformed in to information at the press of a button, allowing him to make informed decisions that will benefit performance and animal welfare.
The VIV Europe Grand Opening Conference “Sharing Data, Better Poulty” takes place on Thursday 21st of June. Join us in the Media Plaza Polar room from 11.00 to 12.30, for this non-commercial Leadership Conference by VIV worldwide & partners. The conference covers Disruptive technologies in Agrifood, Welfare Outcome Measures, Virtual Processing, and the award ceremony for the PAP Awards and VIV lifetime achievement award.
40 YEARS VIV: ANNIVERSARY EDITION
WEEK OF SMART FOOD PRODUCTION In addition to VIV Europe 2018, the two other events take place this first International Week of Smart Food Production at Jaarbeurs: GFIA Europe and the inaugural European Halal Expo. Both events can be visited with a VIV Europe 2018 badge on 20th-21st of June. The GFIA Europe is dedicated to a review of essential sustainable technologies in food production. The new European Halal Expo covers halal in all sectors, with special attention to its application in the production of food, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.
