RAIN, RAIN...

It rained on their first date, it rained on their second date... infact anytime Craig and Becca go to do anything special together it seems to rain, so it was no surprise that when they woke up on the morning of their wedding it was, well, raining!

Craig and Becca met at high school, he was 18 and she was 16. She decided she liked him before she had even spoken to him. After mentioning this to her friends, they decided that the best plan of action would be for her to ask him to the upcoming school ball. Unfortunately he already had a girlfriend and so the plan didn't end with the intended outcome!!

Eventually though, they did become friends and around 6 months later they started dating. Craig's initall take on Becca was that she was pretty, fun to be with, and she was from England! What's not to like!!

It didn't take too long to realise that they had a lot in common... they both loved the same kinds of things, wanted the same things out of life, shared the same faith, respected and love their families similarly and yet could be completely crazy and silly around each other. A perfect recipe for marriage.

LIAM & EMILY

"She's beautiful, intelligent, a christian... oh and she's single!" was Liam's first impression of Emily. He thought he just might be on to something good. A university Student Life camp saw him in a dare given to him by his friends, proposing to Emily, but of course she said "No". However, that wasn't all that she said though... she actually said "No, I don't really know you", which Liam took as a probable 'yes' pretty much.

Even though their first dateMcDonald's and a lame documentary, could have been improved upon, Liam decided then and there that he had found the one, a keeper for sure!! Fast forward a year or so and here we are in the beautiful South Canterbury hills at the Opihi vineyard celebrating their joining together...

WHERE WAS THE RING?

Ros knew he had the ring in the house somewhere... she'd checked his wallet's receipts, and sure enough he'd been to the jeweller, but where was the ring? A special evening was coming up, it would be tonight... it wasn't. A family event was coming up, he'd pop the question then... he didn't. Ros's sister announced her engagement... she knew he had the ring, what was taking him so long?

Maybe it was Island time and what was the rush?... but eventually when Maile did propose to Roz, she was one happy camper and the wedding that she'd already been thinking about and planning 'like forever', got put into action full speed ahead. She knew what she wanted,a wedding that featured friends and family... a real celebration of two cultures coming together, Tongan and Kiwi.

MOUNTAIN BIKING

Marj is from Holland and came out here to finish of her studies in Wellington. She is very sporty; she played soccer for her country and recently ran in the International Mountain Running Champs for Holland. Once she arrived in NZ she discovered mountain biking which lead to her starting up a club for Wellington women with a friend.

It was mutal friends who introduced Marj and Al to each other and it was on a tramping trip down south that the sparks started to fly. Marj was sitting in the back seat of the vehicle and would every now and then catch Al's eye in the rear view mirror... that's all it took...

Al's best mate Simon, new that Al had fallen hard for Marj when they were out climbing the Copland Pass near Mt Cook, when Al declared "I can't die now, I've found a girl"

FIVE YEARS

This is a story about one boy, Lenard, & one girl, Sharolyn. For him, he fell for her on a missions trip to India... for her, well she needed some more convincing.

Over the next 5 years a friendship developed as they worked together in ministry. In 2010 she moved cities and began to realise how much she missed having him around. They talked every night on the phone.

He travelled up every week to take her out & share his love of dancing with her. He became her best friend and it dawned on her that she would never find a man more perfect for her than HIM!

He swept her off her feet! So, with a kiss, they gave each other their hearts and their adventure together began. After a few months of dating LONG DISTANCE she packed her bags and moved back to be close to him.

She knew it was love. They danced, played music, traveled the world together and had fun adventures together.

2 years later he took her out on a romantic date and said "Will you marry ME?" & she said... "YES"

PANCAKE PROPOSAL

Estelle and Mike... it all began in 2005 at a local bar. The evening involved a few drinking games and then a week later they met again during a mating dance they had to perform for a genetically modified animals party. (I really wish I had a photograph of that!)

They spent a few months together before Estelle had to go back to France, but Mike followed twice and then finally, they moved in together in 2008 here in NZ. She even gave up working in Paris to move back to NZ permanently - for 'work,' but we all know better nowreally it was for Mike, who had totally captured her heart. Anyone (in my opinion) who leaves the likes of Paris voluntarily, must be in love!

On Estelle’s birthday this year Mike proposed using hand crafted pancakes, and she said... well, 'YES.' Not that many months later and we're basking in the sun of the beautiful Hawkes Bay waiting for the clock to roll around to the time that Mike and Estelle tie the knot.

TOURIST MOVIE STARS

They were at the top of a look out viewing the picturesque lake below Wanaka where Royce had it all planned out in his head to 'pop the question', but there were Taiwanese tourists filming themselves and it kind of ruined the moment. The Taiwanese were very eager to include Caroline and Royce in their film and even asked them to wave to the camera as they panned past... well it was a nice walk anyway.

Descending down the track only minutes later, Caroline exclaimed "We should have asked them for a copy of the movie", and in that moment Royce had an idea. They turned

around and headed back up the mountain and stopped and asked the Taiwanese "Would you mind sending us a copy of the movie?... and infact would you mind filming us a bit more?" They agreed and then Royce got down on one knee and proposed to Caroline. Caroline was overwhelmed and ummm well the Taiwanese... they were over the moon, guess they had just captured their very first proposal on tape!!!

Caroline is Malaysian Chinese and so it was only appropriate that the day began with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony...

ACROSS THE CONTINENTS

She was travelling the lenght and breadth of New Zealand when one of her stops had her in Timaru attending a local church. Callum spotted her across the isle and that was it. He had fallen for Steph in a matter of minutes and they hadn’t even spoken yet.

This german lass continued on her ticky touring to Queenstown whilst he looked her up on Facebook. “Isn’t she the most beautiful girl you’ve ever seen?!” was his comment to his mother. A trip to the North Island insued for New Years with friends which just ‘happened’ to

conincide with spending some time with Steph. From then on they were inseperable. Fast foward a year or so and their wedding day held in rural South Canterbury, was blessed with sunshine, warmth and undeniable happiness.

It’s amazing how sometimes you just know when you’ve meet Mr or Mrs Right. This tourist girl from Germany and this Kiwi boy from South Africa... who would have ever guessed that a wonderful life of marriage and adventure would follow them.

Should we have an engagement shoot? YES! It’s great chance for us to get to know each other a bit better. You get to see my creative style in action and what you’ve got to look forward to on your wedding day and I get to know what you do and don’t like and what you are comfortable with... it’s the best of both worlds! It means when your wedding day rolls round you are just that bit more relaxed when it comes to having your photographs taken.

You get the chance to enjoy each others company and make some fantastic artistic images in the process. These can then be used in your stationary for your wedding, venue decor or in an guest album for everyone to write notes in for you.

Included is a 1-2 hour session, multiple locations, with as many change of outfits as you like. Portraits are presented at a personalized ordering session or in an online gallery for national/international clients, and if you book your wedding with me, you can choose to purchase your entire Digital Collection (high resolution files) for only $350 instead of $950! Q & A

How far will you travel to take my photographs?

As far as you want me to! I have travelled all over NZ to photograph weddings, international shoots are also anvailable too. There are no travel charges for weddings photographed within the Timaru district, Christchurch or Dunedin, but anywhere beyond that will incur standard travel charges.

What about locations for our photographs?

My style of photography is about telling your story, documenting you, so it's nice to use locations that are special and unique to you. It could be taking a stroll on the family farm, a rugged paddock, industrial buildings, a café, a antique shop, the beach... whatever you love and inspires you

I feel awkward in front of the camera... Most people do, so you are not alone. You don’t need to worry because I will guide you through posing so that you look natural and bring out your best features.

Can I book my wedding date now and decide later on the details?

You sure can! It just requires confirmation that your date is still available, payment of the initial deposit and signing the contract form. Your wedding is then a confirmed booking and we can sort everything else out later.

When will my photos be ready?

It depends on what you order, with the likes of albums taking longer but initial viewing with an online gallery should be within 2-4 weeks of your wedding.

Do you take both black and white and colour photographs?

All photos are initially taken in colour but I select images in post production that I think would suit being black and white and your final gallery will have a selection of both.

BEHIND THE CAMERA

Viv has been a professional photographer for over 20 years working across many different genres but her passion has always been portraiture. At twenty her very first photographic boss suggested she should go and do portraiture full time, but it took Viv a while to find that out for herself. Since 2010 she has had her own studio specialising in contemporary style portraits.

Viv is also a graphic designer which brings a strong design aesthetic to her portrait work. And, of course it’s great for making albums and large pieces of wall art.

Awards, Quals & Memberships

Viv has qualifications in both disciplines and she was an Accredited member of the NZIPP. Viv has won a number of competitions and awards over the years and most recently Silver and Bronze’s with the NZIPP’s Iris Awards.

Photography is a love Viv’s had since she was small with her Grandparents giving her, her first camera when she was only 12 years old; a passion that has run in the family for nearly 100 years!
