The YBK Experience is a two-day yearbook bootcamp that can be held at your school or a nearby location on two consecutive dates of school’s choice. Attendees will present their yearbook theme package and then apply lessons learned during designated work time. Leave the experience with work accomplished and added motivation!
Here’s a sample YBK Experience agenda:
DAY ONE
• Presentation of school’s Yearbook Theme Package: You will provide a slideshow of your planned or current theme including the following:
• Four pieces of design inspiration
• Cover idea(s)
• Verbal theme and spin-off list and rationale for theme
• Style guide: fonts, colors, etc.
• Sample front endsheet table of contents
• Sample divider spread
• Two sample content spreads
• Two mod ideas
• Theme Package Feedback + Yearbook Theme Development Lesson
DAY TWO
• Share results of Day 1 Work Time and Exit Tickets
• Photography Lesson
• Lesson Application/Team Building Activity 1: Applying Feedback Design Scavenger Hunt
• Work Time
• Exit Ticket: Rose, Bud, Thorn
• Lesson Applicaton/Team Building Activity 2: Recreate iconic photos
• Photo Share
• Writing Impactful Yearbook Copy Lesson
• Lesson Application: Sentence Modeling
• Share (optional)
• Work Time (Address Exit Ticket Items)
• Final Exit Ticket & Swag
