Aging with grace and dignity is important to all, especially those who have lived an independent life. A new facility, San Diego PACE, is offering a solution for independence through an all-inclusive care facility for the elderly. Their new facility in San Diego County is located in Vista. The city was chosen to meet North County’s growing need for elder care facilities. In cooperation with the nationwide program San Diego PACE, operated by San Ysidro Health, is offering valuable services to those in need.

SD PACE is allowing for the program participants to remain in their communities by providing the necessary care and coordinating health services all on site. This model is unique and provides a balance of independence and comprehensive care needed in aging communities. This newly remodeled and spacious 28,000 squarefoot facility offers a variety of services on site. Full transportation and care management is offered through PACE. You might ask what is PACE? PACE is a nationwide program that stands for “providing all-inclusive care for the elderly”. This is a health plan with comprehensive coverage for medical, dental, vision, medication assistance, and long-term care. In order to qualify for the program, the applicant must be 55 years or older and have housing in a qualifying ZIP Code. The program is free if you qualify for no out of pocket cost medical. This program is especially beneficial to those with dementia, depression, and chronic illness, the participant also receives adult day services including activities, meals, showers, and laundry. Additionally, SD PACE offers on-site access to social work and home care. The clinic also has physical therapy, occupational therapy, home care, psychiatry, acupressure, and a range of other services. The comprehensive dementia management services including quiet rooms and safety measures in place to keep the facility secure and comfortable are very reassuring. PACE is an excellent resource for low-income seniors looking to manage their health through an allin-one program. Upon touring the location, it was clear that the enrolled participants are greeted with care and kindness. This clean and welcoming space is designed for both clinical and social interaction. The adult day services offer a wide variety of activities including arts and crafts, games, and hands on projects. Most impressive are the care providers available to assist with individual issues. This location is not only equipped to provide hygienic and nutritional services, but they can answer questions about health benefits and even help explain various pieces of mail the participant may have received. Providing touch points on topics like this can help set the participants mind at ease. San Diego PACE is design to service specific ZIP Codes in North San Diego County. This recently opened facility is located at 1840 West Dr., Vista, CA. This location is currently accepting new participants.
