through our brand; and they draw attention to the high-profile shows we host. An infographic produced during Comic-Con earned an International Creativity Award.

VIDEO PRODUCTION

The Communications Department saves the Corporation money by producing awardwinning videos in house. The Corporation owns the equipment necessary to shoot, edit and produce videos and animations used to educate and inform the public about client events, industry news and important updates related to the facility. All videos are shared publicly on the Corporation’s YouTube Channel: youtube.com/user/SDConvenCtr 36 SAN DIEGO CONVENTION CENTER CORPORATION COMMUNICATIONS PORTFOLIO

SDCCC Videos • Videos produced on behalf of the Corporation by our in-house Communications Department have won awards from highly respected associations including the Public Relations Society of America as well as the San Diego Press Club. • The videos were a key component during the

San Diego Convention Center’s 25th Anniversary celebration, building upon three main themes: economic benefits, community partnerships and a driver of local jobs.

• As an added benefit, our clients utilize the videos to promote their events, the facility and the destination in an effort to drive attendance.

Animated Graphics In 2015, the Communications Department added animated videos to its portfolio. The videos are a

CITY COUNCIL

Unlike some convention centers that have multiple funding sources, the San Diego Convention Center is solely reliant on self-generated revenues and an annual discretionary investment from the City of San Diego. As a result, our Board and Executive Leadership are asked to remain transparent in terms of finances, operations and sales. Presentations

The San Diego City Council often requests the Corporation to provide briefings and updates to the committees that oversee the Corporation’s budget, sales and marketing, and infrastructure. Communications is called upon to produce the presentations (in PowerPoint), which are shown to the council.
