Shasta Dam

Built in 1945, Shasta Dam was considered the greatest engineering feat of its time. Take a tour to learn about the history, construction, and how it supplies water and power for California today.

Shasta State Historic Park

Six miles west of Redding, a row of old, half-ruined brick buildings remind passing motorists that Shasta City, the lusty "Queen City" of California’s northern mining district, once stood on this site.

Diestelhorst Bridge

Constructed in 1915, the Diestelhorst was the first reinforced-concrete bridge for cars over the Sacramento River. Drivers used this bridge until 1997, when the Lake Redding Bridge replaced it.

Stress Ribbon Bridge

This 417-foot concrete bridge was the first of its kind in North America, creating picturesque views and a looping path on the Sacramento River Trail.
