Albufera Reserva especialmente protegida por ser de alto valor ecológico con una gran variedad de flora, fauna autóctona y común de zonas húmedas: tamarisco, carrizo lentisco, juncos, olivardilla... Habitada por cantidad de especies endémicas, exclusivas de Menorca: tortugas, lagartijas, águila pescadora, focha... además de las aves migratorias como el flamenco, la garza, cigüeñuelas… que encuentran en este paraje de 1.947 ha. y una longitud de 2 km. aproximadamente, un lugar de descanso en su dilatado viaje de norte a sur. La albufera recibe agua de la lluvia, los torrentes y el mar, es destacable la absoluta compatibilidad de esta naturaleza salvaje con las actividades que desarrolla el hombre, como la pesca de anguilas y lisas, como el pastoreo de ovejas en los pastizales del prat. Aparcar el coche, cámara fotográfica en mano y con máximo sigilo sumergirse en este espacio mágico, donde se entremezclan el cielo, el mar y la tierra nos envolverá en una armonía inolvidable...

It is a highly protected reserve because its high ecological value and a large variety of flora, indigenous fauna and communities of wetlands: tamarisk, common reed, sharp rush, golden samphire, etc. It is inhabited by a number of endemic species that are exclusive to Minorca: tortoises, lizards, ospreys, coots, moorhens, as well as migratory birds such as the greater flamingo, herons, and blackwinged slits, who all share this landscape of 1,947 Ha. of some 2 Km. in length. This is a rest area in their long voyage from north to south.
Es handelt sich aufgrund seines hohen ökologischen Wertes um ein besonders geschütztes Reservat, mit einer großen Vielfalt inseleigener und gewöhnlicher Flora in den Feuchtzonen: Tamarisken, Schilfrohr, Mastix, Binsen, Olivenbäume... Es wird von einer großen Zahl endemischer Arten bewohnt, die exklusiv in Menorca vorkommen: Schildkröten, Eidechsen, Fischadler, Bläßhühner, Teichhühner… dazu kommen Zugvögel, wie Flamingos, Fischreiher, Störche… die in diesem Gebiet, mit einer Fläche von 1.947 ha und einer Länge von ungefähr 2 km, einen Ruheplatz auf ihren ausgedehnten Reisen von Nord nach Süd finden.
The lagoon receives water from rain, from torrents and from the sea. It is outstanding how this wild nature is totally compatible with the activities of man, such as eel and loach fishing and sheep grazing on pastureland.
Die Küstenlagune wird durch den Regen, die Wildbäche und das Meer mit Wasser gespeist. Bemerkenswert ist die vollkommene Verträglichkeit dieser wilden Natur mit den Aktivitäten des Menschen, zu denen der Fischfang von Aalen und Steinbeißern und die Schafweidung auf den Wiesen gehört.
