CHRISTMAS MARKET ON NEUER PLATZ
PEACEFUL ADVENT ON NEUER PLATZ Concerts with Carinthia’s best choirs on the main stage at the Christmas market on Neuer Platz.
Silently the Lindwurm on Neuer Platz looks down on all the visitors. The colourful lights and the fragrant vapours rising from mulled wine pots and incense pans envelop Klagenfurt’s stone landmark in a very special way. Over 50 exhibitors offer an enormous variety of traditional and modern gifts, from hand-carved nativity figures and hand-blown Christmas baubles to hand-knitted clothing and sweet souvenirs. In their midst, Carin thian innkeepers offer regional delicacies at their stalls.
CHILDREN’S PROGRAMME A varied children’s programme for families to join in, laugh and watch on Saturdays and Sundays. XMAS SOUND Outstanding musicians determine this year’s programme on the main stage, always THURS – SAT. Christmas can sound this cool! BRASS BAND SOUND FROM THE STADTPFARRTURM CHURCH TOWER The renovated tower serves as a backdrop for the Carinthia Brass Quartet, which performs on all four Fridays in Advent at 5pm. LENDADVENT AT LENDHAFEN Urban style meets harmonious Christmas flair – plus plenty of plain, good food; that’s the recipe for the new Christmas hotspot in the Lindwurm city.

ADVENT AT THE MARIA SAAL OPEN-AIR MUSEUM There is hardly a better place to get into the Christmas spirit than the cosy old farmhouses at the Maria Saal open-air museum. Families in particular will love the atmosphere, the music and the craft activities. COME ON IN! Advent karaoke at its best at the Kosterei on Osterwitzgasse – all in a relaxed after-work atmosphere and for a good cause: the best way to combine Christmas and socialising.

There will also be a particularly extensive programme around the cathedral during the Advent and Christmas season.
