Festivals & Events Wurstfest 4th weekend in March Taking place during the fourth week of March, sausage producers from Hermann and the surrounding area gather to show off their expertise. During this event you can try a variety of different sausages and immerse yourself in German culture. Experience a number of fun activities including: wurst competitions, "sausage and sauerkraut-making classes", folk dances, live music, sampling markets… and so much more!
Maifest 3rd weekend in May Maifest is an old-fashioned celebration of spring and Hermann's German history. Visitors can enjoy a traditional small-town celebration with Maypole dancers, children's games, heritage tours, beer gardens, German food, parades, and an outdoor market for shopping. Oktoberfest Every weekend in October Oktoberfest is a celebration of the town's German ancestry, the autumn season, fine cuisine, wine, beer, and music. The festival is held every October against a backdrop of magnificent Missouri fall colors. Visitors get a taste of German culture by sampling foods such as schnitzel, bratwurst, sauerkraut, or pretzels, all while enjoying their favorite wine, beer, or spirits. Celebrate with friends and enjoy the great outdoors listening to live music, visiting the arts and crafts festival, participating in fun contests… and so much more!
Freedomfest Fourth of July Weekend Hermann’s Freedomfest is an annual Fourth of July celebration. A parade, games, food and drink, music at the Riverfront Park, and a concert by Hermann's Municipal Band at the Clara Eitmann Messmer Amphitheatre are all part of the fun. Enjoy a day full of summer fun with family and friends, and end the night with a spectacular fireworks show over the Missouri River.
