When you visit Hermann, you might be surprised to discover how busy the wine industry is here. Hermann is the heart and soul of Missouri Wine Country. Its legacy of winemaking began in 1837 when the first German settlers arrived. By the end of the 19th century, Hermann was one of the largest wine-producing regions in the world. Today, over 178,000 gallons of wine are produced in the area yearly, over twenty percent of the statewide total. Visit the many wineries to taste this legacy for yourself!
