Belmont County Explore More GeoTour

Take a tour across the beautiful and scenic landscapes of Belmont County, Ohio where a total of 35 geocaches await to be found. Participants who find 30 caches will be rewarded with the official Belmont County Geocaching coin.

Geocaching is a game that reveals a world beyond the everyday, where the possibility of a new discovery is just a short walk from where you are right now. The adventure begins by searching for cleverly hidden containers called geocaches. There are millions of geocaches worldwide that are waiting for you to find them.

The Belmont County GeoTour offers players and visitors the chance to embark on a treasure hunt in the local area. Some of the sites include the Belmont County Heritage Museum, Barkcamp State Park, Raven Rocks, and the Schaeffer-Campbell Covered Bridge. Players must download the Geocaching App to begin their journey. Once 30 out of 35 selfies/photos and or cache codes are submitted to the Belmont County Tourism Office, players will be rewarded with a Belmont County geocoin. If participants find all 35 caches, they will receive the coin and be entered into a quarterly drawing for prizes.

When you’re ready to go, just follow these steps: 1. Download the Geocaching app or visit Geocaching.com 2. Create a free account 3. Search for our GeoTour at “GT496” then click on the cache to navigate 4. Once you find it, sign the logbook and place the cache exactly how you found it 5. Tap the “Found It” button in the app or log your find online 6. Take a photo/selfie and or register the cache code of each cache and email to

Participants may also collect their coins after office hours at the Ohio Valley Mall customer service desk.
