ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

It is part of the Abu Dhabi’s vision to become the most accessible destination for tourists and visitors. As the global tourism industry rebuilds its confidence to welcome tourists from all over the world, a large portion of the demographic consists of people with disabilities. It is therefore vital to improve the travel and tourism experience and make it more accessible and inclusive for all.

This training program is essential for all professionals working in tourism and hospitality industries. Fostering a spirit of inclusion will help you build positive associations by placing your most valuable asset first---the people.

Each level will offer a unique workshop that targets specific competencies suitable for the audience which are:

AWARENESS LEVEL:

MAKING TOURISM AN EXPERIENCE FOR EVERYONE

In this course you will explore a range of disabilities, and the user needs of people with disabilities (of determination – PoD).

The course highlights relevant aspects in the built, digital, and governance environments and introduces the concept of reasonable adjustments, etc. It gives an overview of many of the aspects to be considered from a pan-disability perspective which covers the needs of people of determination with different disabilities as well as senior citizens.

It also includes a practical session that takes delegates through realistic scenarios that require them to support or serve clients with disabilities and demonstrates known and effective techniques to facilitate such interactions in specific industrial, commercial, and service sectors.

Who Should Attend: Hospitality and tourism frontline employees.

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL:

INCLUSIVE BUILDING & FACILITIES MANAGEMENT

This is a 2-day course where you will gain further knowledge to understand the needs of people of determination in the built environment including the importance of giving accurateand reliable access information about the built environment and facilities provided.

During the course you will learn best practices and receive ideas to implement solutions for a built environment that caters for all needs, and by exploring the universally designed built environments, you will be able to conduct an assessment to measure an inclusive built environment in facilities in the tourism sector.

Who Should Attend: Engineers, Facility Management employees, Interior Designers, Architects, Landscape Designers.

INCLUSIVE MARKETING & PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

During this 2-day course your perception will be shifted on the potential opportunities of accessible tourism market and its advantages for businesses. In addition, you will acquire the skills needed to set and support marketing campaigns and complement typical narratives with the inclusive messaging of your business. At the end of the course, you will learn best practices and receive ideas to create accessible products and services.

Who Should Attend: Sales and Marketing Professionals, Public Relation Professionals, Marketing & Promotion Experts.
