Global deal for Paul Smith eyewear

Stepper

“Pretty perfect” is how Stepper describes the SI-30175, which combines two of its premium materials: titanium and TX5. “The advanced plastic [TX5] front works harmoniously with the contours of the wearer’s face, sitting comfortably on their nose thanks to Stepper’s renowned bridge design,” said Stepper managing director, Peter Reeve. “Unique to Stepper, this plastic material allows for infinite colouring possibilities – and for the SI-30175, contemporary classic hues have been selected to enhance its appeal. A sophisticated, larger eye style allows for the majority of lens needs.”

The titanium sides are fashioned in a linear, pyramid pattern adding visual interest to the design. Both the TX5 and titanium elements are hypoallergenic, and the frame weighs less than 10g. “Quality materials that are perfect for purpose, crafted in a frame that allows for individual fitting and offers built-in comfort, are the hallmarks of Stepper,” Peter added. “What’s more, this frame looks beautiful too.” The SI-30175 is available in Apricot/Bronze, Coral, Sapphire Blue/Bronze, Amethyst and Graphite/ Plum colour options.

The BCLA Irving Fatt Memorial Lecture is aimed at postgraduates in the field of contact lenses and/or anterior eye, who have completed a PhD, a post-doctoral degree or MSc in the UK within the last five years and continued with their research either in private practice, hospital practice or academia. Essilor

Dr Andy Hepworth, professional relations manager at Essilor, has acknowledged new childhood myopia management guidance from the College of Optometrists. “The College guidance explains that if myopia management is within your scope of practice, you can offer this treatment,” he said. The guidance states that multifocal contact lens designs, orthokeratology lenses and myopia management spectacles can be used to slow the dioptric progression of myopia; and that all three options have similar levels of efficacy.

It also states that spectacle lenses for myopia management treatment have no known increased risks compared to wearing spectacles with standard correction lenses. “Essilor offers CPD approved modules and a myopia management certification programme on EssilorLuxottica’s training platform for ECPs who want to develop knowledge in this area,” added Andy. “These aim to educate and empower eyecare professionals on myopia, its
