Third-year clinical trial results of Essilor Stellest lenses have shown they continue to exhibit strong efficacy in slowing myopia progression and axial elongation. The clinical trial was conducted in China, where 151 children from the first two years of the study were switched to spectacle lenses with highly aspherical lenslets while a new set of 56 children were recruited and wore single vision lenses.

Key highlights from the clinical trial include: Essilor Stellest lenses saved more than one dioptre of myopia on average over three years; children who wore Essilor Stellest lenses full-time saw a marked increase in myopia control efficacy; the lenses are effective in slowing myopia progression and axial elongation in older children.

Norbert Gorny, co-COO at EssilorLuxottica, said: “We are extremely encouraged to have such conclusive data showing that Essilor Stellest lenses continue to slow

Titanium Perfection model CH16715

Charmant

Charmant has unveiled a number of new styles in its Titanium Perfection collection for both men and women. All styles feature a pressure-mounted construction with thin-milling fronts in titanium, inner-dyed end tips and patterned rims. A highlight on the frames are the crystal transparent end-tips with built-in colour surges.

Three new women’s styles marry superior quality and relaxed comfort with chic design, while four elegant men’s styles come in masculine tones of black, grey, brown and blue. Temples and end-pieces are very slender and made of flexible beta-titanium. Colour is a key focus of these new styles with gradient patterns and demi-colour expressions on rims, or mono contrasts on rims and temples.

Vision Care for Homeless People

Vision Care for Homeless People is suggesting using 10 October as World Homeless Day. “This is another great talking point and an opportunity to throw a spotlight on the plight of people who are living in the worst possible way, here in the UK," said Alison Gordon from the charity. "All funds raised go directly to those who need help. It may be just a sight test and pair of ready readers but sometimes it is the start to seeing a better future."
