August saw the largest quality audit of the year take place in Bury – the BRC. The BRC Standard is in place to ensure food and beverage business comply with all legal and good practice standards to make products safely and to the highest standard. There are four key components of every BRC audit: documentation review, site inspection, employee interviews and product testing.

The audit took place in all areas of the operation including Brewing, Bottling, Kegging and all support areas.
The audit went very well, and the team maintained our AA grade. Congratulations and well done to the full team!

We are also pleased to announce we passed the annual Gluten Free Audit back in July with no issues found.
The AOECS Standard provides guidance and technical requirements to producers and food safety inspectors for the manufacture of gluten free products and a Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point System to ensure that no contamination with gluten takes place at any stage during the manufacturing, packaging and storing processes.

Congratulations to Belhaven who passed their annual FEMAS Audit in July.
The FEMAS Audit verifies that the industry is meeting its obligations under the appropriate feed safety related legislation and codes of practice, in maintaining safety in the feed and food chain. Special mention to Keith Garson who led the audit for the first time!
