The VVMA is thrilled to invite you once again to the annual Virginia Veterinary Conference inRoanoke February 16-18, 2023. We will be traveling to the historic Hotel Roanoke for a few days of networking, learning, and socializing. Being able to meet in person for last year’s conference was a blessing and this upcoming year, we hope to have even higher attendance from both attendees and exhibitors.
The welcome reception to kick off the conference will be on Thursday beginning at 5:30pm. Light refreshments and appetizers will be served.
We're excited for Bash Halow, BA, CVPM, LVT to kick off our conference first thing on Friday morning with his keynote address: Sharp Tongues and Poison Pens: Inside the minds of those that lash out in person and online. Bash is witty & vibrant and is sure to deliver an entertaining & productive presentation.
Over Friday and Saturday, multiple hours of CE will be offered in food animal, equine, public corporate, small animal, and LVT tracks. Of course, our conference would not be possible without our wonderful sponsors and exhibitors The exhibit hall will be open Friday at 7:30am and again Saturday morning until around 1:30pm. Breakfasts, lunches, and snacks in between will also be found in the exhibit hall. Please take a walk around the exhibit booths to learn about services and products offered. we're really grateful for all our vendors do for the veterinary field.
Friday night, I would like to invite everyone to the exhibit hall at 5:00pm for the exhibitor appreciation reception and promptly after at 5:40pm, the Virginia Veterinary Awards presentation This special awards event allows us the opportunity to recognize both veterinarians and non-veterinarians that have contributed greatly to the profession.

Sharp Tongues and Poison Pens: Inside the minds of those that lash out in person and online.
Bash Halow, CVPM, LVT, a veteran of general and referral practice medicine, has more than 22 years of experience handling clients who express online or in-person rage The effects can be disabling to a practice team's morale and ability to be empathetic to the remainder of the hospital's clientele The dynamic creates horrible feedback loops of resentment and mistrust on both sides of the exam table.
Join Bash Halow for a Keynote like no other. There will be chances to think about clients who express themselves with rage and review the kinds of responses that are reasonable in such volatile climates. Real-life stories, polling, and chance for audience members to contribute make for a lively hour
