PROLOGUE Silver threads woven to make a fabric that is gentelly laid next to the Sabarmati river. Bowing down to the Tagore hall to its west, the triaxial field rises from the ground like an everchanging sculpture that is ready to take off. Reflecting the city with light bouncing off its face. The building becomes a plane that constantly manipulates time.

In this project, a meadow was constructed as an adaptation to the topography of the terrain.

And on its top, there rests an autonomous rectangular volume that houses the minimum functions of a dwelling in a single open-plan space; to the south, there is a living, dining and resting room; and within the thick wall that isolates us from the north, there are toilets and the entrance.

This architectural object transforms its relationship with the environment as the seasons change in the riverbank vegetation filter that accompanies it, but also from the varying expression of its gaze, which enjoys the landscape protected from the sun when it raises its eyelids. And, fearful of the brevity of this sober beauty, the refuge rests unstable on a hillside ledge like an owl ready to take flight with the landscape caught on its retina.

Reading the architectonics This exercise aimed to develop the ability to read architectural resolution and expression of a building, and understand its direct correlation with construction materials, techniques, the structural (load transfer) system and the details of putting elements together.

Project

Design Site

Triaxial Field lies on the edge of a wetlands area in the Chinese city of Hangzhou. While it is part of a larger development of hotels and villas, it is oriented around the views of the natural wetlands and the water channel.

Rather than designing an “object� building, this project is a field that merges landscape and architecture.

The site is located right next to the Sabarmati river. the site is 80 mt by 47 mt wide rectangular shape of land parallel to the river. the site is a part of the river front event space complex made as a part of river front development. the building sits in the north of sardar bridge and east to Tagore hall.

The site is an existing event ground covered with lawn alongside 3 other similar grounds and the event center head office to the south of the side along with a performance stage

The program is a unique event space which provides a chapellike atmosphere for weddings, musical performances, and theater.

Additionally, the building will be the site of large banquets, special events, and conferences.

Triaxial field - Re-imagined The triaxial field is event centre designed on the Sabarmati river Front as a part of the river front event centre. the project is a reimagination of Steven Holl’s design.

The Primary idea of the project was to create a event centre that can accommodate multiple scales of event simultaneously. the building anchors itself on towards south towards the stage and west towards the Tagore Holl tieing it the Holl’s initial ideas.

The building is a tri-axis Space frame which carries forward the geometry of the primary design, further this structure is treated to cater to the changing climate of Ahmedabad as well as cover various aspects of design principles and architectural expression.

Building opens itself towards the east overlooking the river. The lawn around the building merges with the courtyards acting as the extension spaces. All the functions are pushed in the basement giving a seamless ground level to conduct event.
