An adaptation of a talk given by President Spencer W. Kimball at Brigham Young University on 4 May 1954 that provides an overview of Mormon beliefs on repentance and forgiveness for sin. In it, President Kimball breaks the repentance process down into five steps: (1), sorrow; (2) abandonment of sin; 3, confession; (4) restitution; and (5) doing God’s will.
