Beaded Wheels Report: Kevin Clarkson The editor needs more articles for the “Behind the Wheel” feature. Presentation by Don Muller Archivist: The archives have had a request for copies of “NZ Motor and Cycle” Does anyone have copies of this early magazine? National Day – Presentation by Melissa Last year $40,000.00 was raised for the Cancer Society. All money stayed in the local areas. 25 branches took part. For this year 27 branches are taking part. Stickers have been produced, posts have been put onto Facebook, a new logo and poster has been produced and ads have been placed in Beaded Wheels, Petrol Head and NZ Classic Car. There is also a link from the Cancer Society’s Facebook page. Ross Holden has put out a media release. Nelson Branch has distributed around 600 fliers which have been placed on windscreens of Club eligible cars. 60 Year Certificates: 26 have been presented in total. 50 year badges 315 have been presented in total. The form for 25 and 35 year badges has been altered. It was voted upon to issue a badge and a certificate when 60 years of continuous membership is completed. This was carried. Various coming events were advertised to the meeting including Wairarapa Branch’s 50 years which will be celebrated in October, and the National Veteran Rally in Nelson in November which will involve participation by the public (e.g. demonstrations of crank starting etc.) The North Island Club Captain’s Tour was promoted. A “North Cape to Bluff Tour” was proposed by Paul Collins. It was suggested that branches consider digitising their libraries. Next year’s AGM will be held in Greymouth. It was suggested that delegates could travel on the Alpine Express. The Draft Constitution was discussed. Tony Bartlett spoke about the draft Code of Conduct that he has prepared as a prospective remit which will be voted upon at the next Executive Meeting. The Management Committee is actively looking for a replacement for David Yorke who did not seek re-election. Matters arising from previous AGM: The consensus seems to be that there should be one Easter Rally per year and that the venue should alternate between North and South Islands. The Tourer
