It has been a busy start to 2018……. Bob was in touch with the AP&I Show Committee way back in October last year. At the time he said we could do it and have cars ready for display. He asked for cars, but please let him know well in advance of the show. After no reply had been received but only 5 days before the show we were asked to participate again. This resulted in a quick ring round and we were lucky enough to get 6 cars. So after WOF‟s and a clean etc, saw Des St Clare, Mark Morgan, Ivan Horn, Warren McMillan myself and Don McLaren all with a good line up and participating in the Grand Parade. Tom Hayes immaculate 1930 Harley Davidson was also on show. A very successful outcome! We have been promised a few parts from members of the public, so successful there too. The only down side to the event was I suspect my camera was stolen off the display! When we took the fences down to await the parade I put the camera down, it was gone when I came to get it.
Starting the 1918 Jalbart tractor owned by Steven Prouse, was something to behold. I think this has contributed to Global Warming since first arriving on their pioneering farm in Levin. Originally owned by the Prouse family of which Steven is a descendent, it is one of only three known to be running in the world. A photo of the „start up‟ was obtained and could‟ve been published, however a blank white page shows you exactly what was happening!
